thing is it comfortable ( driver's car not a flip-car 😉 )( remote ball/Q-ball vs 70 real dark red wood pistol vs 2016 ss chevy comaro with a longer rod as right now it's under the dashboard and no im now running a console/buddy seat the miss's is somewhat disappointed as she can't cuddle on longer slow drives ) to use daily? as im TR6060 swaping my charger plus GEN-2 hemi looks in my head it's the easiest way to make the 2016 chevy hurst "look right and 1968 OEM" ( polished crome rod like it was OEM to the black leather boot and maybe hurst embossed in the metal on both flat sides like mopar did on some models ) ( frustratingly as i feel it's classic cliché and maybe over done plus the shift pattern doesn't fit well lettering wise for 6 to 8 gear's as my transmission is out of a 2014 C7, mockup/imagination feel wise mid wheel so a little higher than the video/stock for N but 6"in total 1st to 2st gear is to long looking for about 3"in total a 1/2'in ish of gate pre-engagement/slopp ) as i have the boot out of the Chevy's ect. but im used to old 60 C10 OEM sm465 and ford top loader's handle's and rod's hugging the dashboard and Z-bar clutches with heavyweighted compound bow hunting feel not for the white lighting or red top oem tremic based tower shifter's or one's like it tried it already not for mr.shorty/hip huggers or nee nocking ouch no thanks

Nothings better than feeling the frame twist from the torque. It’s like driving a Harley over a crotch rocket. They may not be as fast as a Tesla or most modern performance cars, but they sure as hell feel like it. My brother has an older 60’s Sportster 1200 bored to 1450 I think. Lot of mods. People gave him crap a few times calling it the Harley made for women. He would just say let’s see you kickstart it. No electric start on it. They almost always hit their shins or almost get thrown over the handle bars.

@@siglavikingkearns8108 well, maybe. A modern 600 hp car would be easier at WOT would be easier to drive than a dialed in big block musclecar because of one simple button. ESP. Even when you turn those off on modern cars rarely are they completely off, and even if you can turn them completely off then the chassis itself is so much more stable than the muscle cars of yore. A 300 hp midsize muscle car could easily smoke tires down the block, and with a limited slip would be very sideways very quickly and not very predictable, with tank slippers the normal reaction to lifting off the throttle suddenly. Granted, modern cars behave similarly, but not as exaggerated. Now if that Mercedes had all computer nannies off, worn out shocks, worn out chassis and suspension bushings, and recirculating ball type steering, then you would be in deep shit. I mean you’re absolutely right, 600 hp is monstrous, and even with nannies it can bite you badly, but just go drive a 1968 Hemi Charger or a 429 SCJ Torino or LS5 Chevelle, and unless they’ve had a recent chassis rebuild, those things are loose as a goose and go everywhere but straight. Plus, with a solid rear axle the axle itself is always trying to lift the right rear tire to the sky, and press the left rear tire into the ground. An IRS is also in theory doing the same but it’s significantly more restrained. Modern cars are designed NOT to break loose, and solid axle leaf sprung cars are just what had come before and definitely not really designed to handle tons of torque and remain planted. Hence the trailing arm suspension of the GM cars and leaf springs in Ford cars made a huge difference in launch. But, you are right, a 600.Merc will grow hair on the hair on your nuts. 450 hp in a classic musclecar would be wildly unpredictable. Well both COULD BE. Simply put, modern cars are going to more predictable. Sorry I said anything.

The BMW was, of course, smoother and faster but the Dart was just such a symphony of viscerally satisfying noise! I'd buy a completely restored Dart if I had the money.

EFI is the way to go with this Ethanol added to the gas today, over time it eats the plastic and rubber seals away, corrosion.

I have the same style pistol grip in my69 Charger, and it’s a little funky on the tremec 5 speed. Yes it came out in 70 but we all ran out and got one , most people never realize it’s a 5 speed but it’s right up on top of the handle . Go figure?🤔

When I was a kid one of our neighbors had a brand new black '69 Charger. It was so impressive and the paint looked like it was deep black plexiglass in the sun. One day I heard him coming up the street. He stopped at the stop sign, made a left turn and hammered the throttle. He smoked the tires for what seemed like forever and broke them loose in all 4 gears. About a week later he did the same thing. Except this time he blew the positraction rear into pieces. Oops. Way too much power for that rearend. A lightning bolt moment from well over 50 years ago.

Back in '72 I had a 69 Z/28 and my Buddy had a 69 Charger with the 426 Hemi. We raced one day and he blew me away by 2nd gear. Fastest car I ever rode in.

Go back to school kid and learn the difference between GROSS and NET horsepower. A 2023 Dodge 5.7 V-8 at 380 hp puts out 30 hp more than the old 426.

I remember those days well. In1969 I was 15 years old in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota there was Brookdale Ford, Iten Chevrolet, and Brookdale Dodge all within an easy bike ride away. My father had several Hemi chargers, Coronets 1966-1970. Hey those 440's were fast. My dad had a Dodge dealership in Sonoma Ca. I even special order, with the factory rep a one off 1968 Dodge Dart GTS with a 383, 4 speed, (long story there). I wish I knew were that one is. Who knew to keep a few? One thing that my Dad handed down to me was the white Dodge Stetson hat that Dodge gave my father for the "White Hat" Special. Thanks for the ride.
