Thanks for the kind words and I'm so glad it helped. I also received a lot of value from Tractor Mike and other excellent channels before I attempted. DIY My Way is another great channel. Thanks for watching!

Good job, Pilgrim. Man, that sort of makes me think of John Wayne saying that (smile). Enjoyed watching your maintenance video. Really nice looking Kubota. Have a fine upcoming week.

In a pinch if you don't have a large enough Allen wrench you can use a bolt with a head that fits into the hole. Put a couple of jam nuts on it so you can use an open end or box end wrench to remove the Allen bolt.

You said "mid PTO", but the L2501 doesn't have a mid PTO. I couldn't tell from the picture, but I think that was the driveshaft to the front axle. :)

Yes I was wrong. Those zerks are for the pedal shafts.

Great job... Had to take that brake to play with the box blade!! Lol. Have you been checking every bolt you see? Never know if one just didn't get tightened..

Great idea! I will do that, sir! Makes a lot of sense. Plus it gets me even more intimate with my tractor.... wait, didn't mean it quite like that...

Just a bit of info... Best grease is Lucas red and tacky... front fel if it's used a lot, grease daily... that red grease will not just push out like cheap junk... The front grease zeros you should push out grease a little... gets the grit out... once a month I will push a lot out... I always wipe out the grease that pushes out. If not it holds grit...

Excellent feedback and I will definitely do this! Thanks!

The tractor I got earlier this summer is old and needed a lot of TLC ... Before that I had a friends skid steer... I enjoy working on it as much as using it... I just bought land and did a ton of work in a short time... Using my buddy's skid steer I learned a lot about the pins on the bucket... He owns about every kind if heavy equipment you can think of... He introduced me to a Milwaukee and dewalt battery powered grease gun... Now Im in the process of buying an L2501... Or kioti 25hp... My old kubota with 3800 hours is amazing so I think kubota.... Update with any issues if you can... Keep up the great maintanance ...

Great video! I was watching another rotary cutter maintenance video that said to make sure your cutter is level before filling the gear box with oil. Perhaps yours wasn’t level side to side and was overfilled? Just an observation.
@homesteadpilgrim
@homesteadpilgrim 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Travis, excellent point. I'm sure it wasn't level, but the amount of gear box oil I had to put in was significant. I recently checked it at level and it is still good to go. Thanks for watching!

Good vid just curious is to why you don’t have your rod pushed in on your grease gun seems it would have air pushing out not being pressurized by rod not in tube.
@homesteadpilgrim
@homesteadpilgrim 2 жыл бұрын
Hey Dirtchevy! yeah, that grease gun was brand new when I loaded it and the rod didn't push in the whole way and I didn't want to force it at the time. I've reloaded it since and the rod pushes in all the way now... not sure what happened. Thanks for watching.

Did I see wheel bearing grease being applied on the battery terminals? Dielectric grease grease should be used. A specific gel for electrical connections.

Thats odd that you have a cover that obscures your engine oil dipstick. I just took delivery of a new L2501 last week, and mine doesn't have a cover on the right side, that covers the dipstick.
@homesteadpilgrim
@homesteadpilgrim 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Blue Sky! You are correct, you don't have to remove the cover. I discovered this back when I did my 20 hour maintenance check. Thanks for the comment.

Nice video. But you don't have to remove the side panel to check the oil. You also missed the grease zert at the bottom of the bucket quick attachments, and the grease zerts on each side of the front axle..

What about your pats quick hitch with added four inches did you modify drive shaft, I'm buying l2501 your advice much appreciated.
@homesteadpilgrim
@homesteadpilgrim 2 жыл бұрын
The only thing I had to do is purchase a longer top link (see that video!) since the stock top link was too short for most of my implements. Otherwise, no additional modifications or pto shaft extensions are needed since the normal telescoping of the PTO shaft for my rotary cutter handled the extra length just fine. Good Luck with your purchase and stay safe!

I see you have a tundra. Do you transport the tractor using the tundra? If so do you use a weight distribution hitch ?
@homesteadpilgrim
@homesteadpilgrim 2 жыл бұрын
I do not have a need to transport the tractor and I also do not have a trailer. My dealer is close enough should there be a repair needed for transport, they will do so for a fee.

Hey Jeffrey, .... nothing, that's the bracket assembly that the draw bar slides into. I had removed the draw bar for some reason back then.

Isn’t it 50 hours for first grease?
@homesteadpilgrim
@homesteadpilgrim 4 жыл бұрын
No, every 10 hours I grease all fittings, tighten the nuts and bolts, blow out the radiator screen. Don't let your tractor go 50 hours between greasing.

@@homesteadpilgrim Hallo, danke für deine Antwort! Würdest du Kubota dem John Deere vorziehen?
@homesteadpilgrim

I would never buy a John Deere. The hoods and some parts are plastic and the quality is no where near Kubota. I have a John Deere dealer 10 minutes from my house and I saw their product and was not impressed.

seems kind of strange you have to remove a panel to check the oil, that should be done before every use.
@homesteadpilgrim
@homesteadpilgrim 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Stan, I don't check the oil before every use. That sounds excessive to me. I'll check the manual, but I don't recall it saying to check the oil before every use.

You do not need to remove a panel to utilize the engine oil dipstick. Cannot understand why it is done here. Agree with comment that having to remove a side panel to perform this very basic function would be a pain in the rear. In fact, it would be a significant design flaw.

Apologies, Dude. My big assumption for this video is that viewers have an L2501 and therefore have an owners manual for the tractor and the loader. Don't rely on my lil vid as it is a summary of the process. You really need to read and follow your manuals! Thanks for watching.
