Thanks for this great clip. What a cool era for American cars and great to see all of the locations in San Francisco, Golden Gate Bridge, North Beach, Coit Tower, Chinatown , ,etc

Also one or two locations from "What's Up, Doc?" A '69 Belvedere taxi was also used in that.

It is! That's where the charger's wheel bumped into that same wall, taking off one of its hubcaps

I'd agree. And the curvy section going downhill looks a lot like the curvy section of using mini movies including TV shows like full House. When we are visiting we made a point to drive that section of road and I guess that's something a lot of people do.

Stunt men of the era liked using Mopar cars for wild chase scenes because of the torsion bar suspension and Mopar ball joints. They said they held up better to the abuse than the GM and Ford vehicles of the time. Judging by the number of Mopar's in car chase scenes from the period, I guess they were correct. This Belvedere sure held up considering the punishment it was given!

The clip around 5:15 where the car gets over the tracks , looks like it busted a tie rod as it tried to get over the tracks, before the clip changed to a good car that kept chasing.

MrTheHillfolk. The car which had its tie rod broken hadn't dent in its hood, and it was replaced by another car with tie rod ok but hood and grille smashed up

Mopar also had an entire department dedicated to supplying vehicles for films so they were easy to deal with.

The police Fury has a collision with a police 1970 Ford Custom at 3:41. Separately a good idea to shoot the AMC Pacer ad hoarding.

Plymouth is the plywood of a car chasing vehicle……awkward steering system, heavy and laboriously handling. And kind of clunky, too.
