Phidx did a video on the ranking system... Long story short the game is pushing you into purple... Every game from yellow to purple gives you more points for a win than a loss, so for him to get into blue isn't surprising as all he had to do was get lucky meeting players that were as unskilled as him in purple to get that promotion into blue then when he hit blue the system changes you get less points for a win than a loss and your win streaks bonus disappears and but is replaced with a loss streak so 9 losses...
