This was fun. Here's another list: 1. Show a Saturday Night Record -- Parliament (-Funkadelic), "Mothership Connection" ("Give Up the Funk") 2. Show a Sunday Morning Record -- Roberta Flack & Donny Hathaway (self-titled), featuring "Where Is the Love" 3. Show a Soul Cover Version -- Isaac Hayes, "By the Time I Get to Phoenix" (or "Walk On By") from "Hot Buttered Soul" (for obvious reasons) 4. Show a Record that could be the Soundtrack to a Car Chase -- Tower of Power, "What Is Hip?" (great horn section, too, of course) 5. Show a Record Cover where the Artist just looks Too Cool -- Al Green's Greatest Hits (shirtless, with a wink and a grin -- a pose echoed by Elvis Costello on the UK cover of "This Year's Model") 6. Show a Record that features a Horn Section -- Wilson Pickett, "Land of 1,000 Dances" (Stax's Memphis Horns!) 7. Show a Soul Record by a White Artist -- Elvis Costello, "Every Day I Write the Book" (from "Punch the Clock") 8. Recommend a Soul Record to Friend who knows nothing about Soul Music -- Aretha Franklin, "I Never Loved A Man..." 9. Show a Soul Record that’s been Sampled -- James Brown's entire catalog 10. Show a Record with Sweet Harmonies -- Temptations, "My Girl" (or "Just My Imagination") 11. Show A Modern Soul Record -- Curtis Harding, "Face Your Fear" (2017 on Anti- records) 12. Pick a Soul Record for the Pub Jukebox -- The Dramatics, "Whatcha See is Whatcha Get"
