If last year proved anything is if Scottie sets his mind to it, then expect to see results. Last off season, his goal was to get bigger, stronger and faster. He packed on 10lbs of muscle and did sprint training. You can see that pay off with how effortlessly he can chase down blocks, bully people in the paint and get a step on almost anyone. This off season, his focus was on improving his shooting. I wouldn't be surprised if his point totals jump up to at least 25 without getting more shots.

@MRBp2024Ай бұрын
Crazy how much outrage there was when Scottie went 4th over Suggs. Scottie was projected top 5-6 by most draft experts. Scottie was viewed as a top 5 pick purely on the fact he was a 6ft 9, 7ft 3 wingspan point forward with guard skills & elite playmaking+defense upside. He was seen as raw offensively, a non scorer and project on offense. Most experts did not see 15 PPG at any point in his first 3 years and didn't know how he would score in NBA given how he struggled in all areas on offense in college, no polished offensive moves, unwilling shooter, unwilling scorer. With being so flawed on offense hr still was a top 5 pick in a deep draft. Thats how highly he was rated outside of his scoring. The fact Scottie made such a scoring leap from day 1 as a rookie in NBA shocked everybody and justified immediately the pick. Scottie was a 15 PPG scorer in year 1 and 20 PPG scorer in year 3 with good volume 3 point shooting and almost 80% from the FT line. Nobody saw that coming. Scottie shooting mechanics in college was broken, a 27% shooter with no sense for shooting, stiff jumpshot. He was an awful 60% FT shooter which is a good indicator for projecting shot improvement and Scottie FT were poor. Scottie shooting numbers in high-school were also poor both from 3 and FT line. Scottie crazy jump as a scorer + shooter from college to rookie year is a rare jump thats hard to project.

Just watching him closely you can see how far along he is from what he can be, yet he was still an all star at 22. Look at all the NBA greats that have praised him from LeBron, KG, KD, Draymond etc. I could go on about the endless details of what makes him so unique but I’ll keep it simple.
