6s Power! FMS Model Pilatus PC-21 with Hobbywing Skywalker 100a 540kv combo

What's up, y'all? So... I wanted a little more power in the Pilatus. It's 6s now. I played it safe and went low kv but may change that in the future. Here's the maiden flight with the Hobbywing Skywalker 100a esc, 540kv motor and 11x7 3 blade prop. Thanks for watching 👊🏿

Man, I have so much respect for every LOS pilot out there. I only fly FPV because I cannot for the life of me get the directions right when it flies around me, especially when it is further away.

I put the larger FMS voodoo 900kv motor in my Pilatus. Run it on 6s with a 10x8 2 blade prop. So much faster and more fun to fly. Stock is so bloody slow. I even tried the 1050kv Maule motor with 5 blade prop. Still slow. Tried the original motor and prop on 5s and 6s. Still slow.

I have a 10x8 just waiting to go on haha! I think it'll wait for the next motor though. Plannin on the HW 850kv. Although... I could probably benefit from some more slower flight time 🤣🤣👊🏿

You're clearly a function over form kinda flyer - that's not pretty, but at least you're having fun. I stuck the power from the V1200 in my PC-21 and it screams like the real thing, which is great since I spent a year adding detail and colors to make it look like the real thing. Different strokes I guess.

I crash way too much to worry about form right now lol. I'm not quite a year into flying. I appreciate the scale birds at the field though. This setup with a 11x8 prop hit 111mph, just didn't have that 5 blade scream. I'll fly this setup a bit longer and throw an 850kv in for the next level. But once I get into the WWII war birds, I'll lean more on scale. Thanks for watching and commenting 👊🏿

Thanks! This current setup 100a Skywalker esc and 540kv motor is a touch better. I haven't posted the vid, but hit 111mph with a 11x8 prop. I'm thinking I'll throw an 850kv in at some point. Thanks for watching 👊🏿

Lol safety third! Jokes aside, I actually thought that right as I finished. Throttle kill switch was definitely in use though. I always say, "if you're gonna be dumb... be smart about it" 🤣👊🏿

​@@flymachine nope! It comes with a 40a esc and 750kv motor to run 4s. Gets you about 80mph on a good dive with a tailwind lol!
