Hey Big. B, great vid , loved the 6S 8S comparison. 8S obviously can and will give you a PB under ideal conditions, as long as one doesn’t get carried away. You “warned “ all of us in the risk factors involved with 8S. Am sure you will have your rudder repaired “ironclad”. Thanks for giving us the heads up.

8s pushes it straight out of the hole fair play. 6s is to tame for such a big boat cavitating on take off. You have definitely found the performance the boat should have for bashing hard. Loving that setup Big B, gutted that rudder tore out and ruined the show, Ironclad that and she’s an Animal for sure 😍👍

Always amazed at how well you get a V hull to perform, I find them a complete pain in the butt to set up. Also nice to see the temps a little cooler which is a surprise as normally upping the volts draws more current, which increases the Watts/ heat but I think it could be increased water flow due to the higher speed.
@sohcerdad Жыл бұрын
Heck yea this was awesome! Lets see what this hull will do!?

I still have the stock esc in my v2 for 2 summers. I ran this prop for a long time and then gave it to my dad to use. I have a x645 on it now and no power cuts even after bashing. However my battery discharge is not as good as these SMC's. I have one of these on the shelf waiting to go in it. I realize now the CNHL 6500 6s pack i have is 90c rated not the 150c rated like i thought. Warmest water temps we get are lower 80s
@PsychonauticExplorer Жыл бұрын
I'd keep it stock unless you like ordering parts and looking for large(r) spaces to use your RC. Looking at RC videos I've concluded that 60mph/100kmh is the max for both boats and cars while still keeping it max fun. Anything faster sounds and obviously looks great but it creates issues with space and bigger crashes. The videos are awesome to watch though.

Cool running, especially on 8S...but, I'm thinking, the motor isn't the only thing not designed to handle 8S. Me thinks, the hull, itself, isn't "8S capable"...lol 🤙🏼 But, I still enjoyed watch. Call it "another non-human audition for Cirque du Soleil".

I believe your 1000% right about that. Couldn't agree more, as long as the boat stays on the water it's fine, soon as she starts flying, D.U.N DONE

Just need some Spektrum 100C packs. Then you can get all your temps, rpm, speed, Amps and battery voltage.. All the stuff that makes tue smart technology so sweet! I know. spektrum packs aint really optimum. But it is nice once it's all set up on the rugged/5c.. And we need another bash session! I think the zelos is good to go, again..

By increasing the voltage the set up 'uses' the voltage more than the amps resulting in lower temps. Less current draw means less internal resistance. Upping to 160A / 8S gains lesser temps as well.

45 Years of rc boating has resulted in the optimum combo. - rigger no doubt fasted ever designed hull easiest to scratch build and repair - twin set up stupid high speed (outward ! running props ) no prop walk, so no rudder tweeking to run straight totally symetrical lay out less proned to power cut off longer run times lower temp readings smaller rudder needed - splash cooling plain, smooth rudder so no eratic spin offs less water resistance no clogged water lines double up with y splitters, see IRONCLAD RC vids Still I like to run a deep vee, cat and three point (semi) scale hydro. Cause they're all BOATS. That's why.
@jamesatkinson7517 Жыл бұрын
I changed my fastest boat from 6s to 8s using the same prop the temps dropped and the speed went up. So weird, I guess the boat has less hydronic drag at higher speed but then again more aero drag. It’s opposite to the establishments normal logic. All the forums say prop down when going up in volts. Challenging the narrative, I love it.
