I practiced fighting the lynels, I don’t break a SINGLE weapon anymore unless my weapon is already dull before the battle, I just simply shoot the lynel on the head with an arrow, and while he is temporarily fallen just get on his back and use your sword to tackle him, just repeat this process until you have finally defeated the creature.

I know the fire attack kills other enemies because I saw it with the gatehouse lynel but I guess they never programmed lynels to be immune since they aren't supposed to be near eachother
