3:26 this is exactly what made me effectively quit OW. The pressure and expectation to do well and being the easy target of being picked on as a bad tank made the tank main experience awful and not rewarding. Stoked to see how this 6v6 testing continues.

I had a blast in this mode and I brought my junker queen win rate up because she is too hard to play in 5v5. It’s feels like all she can do is tickle people but in 6v6 there’s so much going on I can actually make plays with her and she’s the only character that gets me really excited and get my heart rate going and I really missed playing her.

Queen is feast or famine in 5v5, most of the time it depends on the support lineups and how coordinated the other team is.

I've felt the exact opposite personally, the nerfs to her healing in 6v6 combined with a longer shout cooldown and less hp makes me feel like I have to play a lot safer than I normally do and have more downtime between pushes. In 5v5 as long as I'm using shout well and keeping cover/escape routes in mind I feel like I can get away with murder.

rein zarya has never been that entertaining to me but dva as an off tank again was so nice to see. Even if 6v6 doesn’t turn out to be better balance wise or if the old issues emerge again, it’s definitely more fun to watch and play. welcome back 6v6, you’re as beautiful as the day we lost you. I do really hope they get rid of the role passive thing tho… manually tweak support healing instead of blanket nerfing/buffing characters that don’t need it

Honestly you could give Zarya her shared bubble cd back in 6v6 with a cooldown on allies after using it (kinda like discord orb has on enemies) so you can’t just spam double bubble on your other tank

Zar in open feels better as she is still easy to kill but gets energy fast due to the shared bubble (thats if u play with another tank in open)

I had a better time in 6v6 than i thought (less mentally draining at least) but prefer the pace of 5v5. I would really like both to stick around. Like 6v6 casual in between my more draining 5v5 games sounds fantastic. Regardless of what they choose, i just want them to add the kingmaker health UI to the game.

I hope they take from rivals to release at least 2 new characters at a time or in a short burst in different roles so that more roles are encouraged to play that season and for balance it’s not like we wont figure it out and yap about it until it changes haha

They really should've left the tank changes in and only removed the bonus role queue health. If adjustments are needed then they can change it more next time.

Agreed, some balance changes were definitely needed but reverting the QOL updates feels so bad. Even if its just muscle memory, for hog his controls changed so much. Going from the classic mode back to normal now into6v6, gained his secondary fire but it has increased range for some reason... Just confusing.

@@NOVRE it’s not very accurate to describe them as QOL. reins steering + charge cancel were massive buffs same goes for roadhogs vape resource and Zaryas shared bubble cd. There’s def some that can stay, but leaving all of them in the way the are in 5v5 is a very bad idea.

Zarya with ow2 bubbles would functionally be a main tank even with the lower HP. There's no way they could have left that in.

I think I'm one of the outliers that played OW1 and was actually excited for 5v5 in OW2. I personally think it's a more focused/streamlined experience. Now that 6v6 is back every game I played was a chaotic mess of noone knowing how to deal with 6v6. Now, maybe you could say it'll get better as a lot of players now have only known 5v5. But I still think 5v5 is a more focused and more enjoyable experience.

I'm the same, played ow 1 for years ended up preferring 5v5. 6v6 is fun if you're tank duoing, DPS isn't really a very different experience except some heroes end up being more map/composition specific, Support is just outright worse gameplay. Solo tanking is also not a great experience.

There is no reason to do max 3 min 1 because it will devolve into 3 tank 2 heals and 1 dps. And nothing else ever. And if the dps goes torb or sym then its becomes 7v6 in a much worse manner. Because now you have an extra tank to deal with

I dont think so because tanks do not automatically have the advantage over dps in this. In my games tanks are the o es with the most deaths and are getting destroyed by dps. The only reason tanks were so hard was because their giga chad health. So 3 dps could easily mow down 3 tanks. Also I think 1 support is viable when you have to do less overall healing. I play support and most of my games have been steamrolls without me having to heal much at all.

@@dash4800nope. 3 tanks will easily win against 3 dps, in similar competent ranks. Gold vs gold, plat v plat. Double meta heals such as double immortality, suzu, frisbee. Or crazy sustain, like brig ana. You are talking about games that are uncommon and unorganized. But you get everyone to lock in, 3 competent tanks with 2 competent heals, will always beat 3 dps.

It was such a dumb idea to just out right remove new abilities in ow2 ...just so they dont have to deal with balancing them... rien zarya meta but you cant cancel charge or bubbles arent on the same cooldown ....6v6 is nice to have back but i want to be able to play 2 tanks with how the current hero works

You can still cancel charge, they just removed the steering buff. Zarya double bubble was a specific 5v5 consideration because it lets zarya effectively be a main tank, it would do the same in 6v6.

Definitely. I think a lot of new players want to DPS on support more, so keeping reduced healing on top of adding another tank reduces their opportunities to DPS.

If Blizzard doesn’t make changes to fit that those players might get frustrated, and I don’t think Blizzard is keen on bleeding even more players.
