The rotations and move updates have spiced up the meta considerably. Personally I think the Rock Slide and Sky Attack nerfs were a bit overkill but overall it's good changes all around.

​@@MintyTea_Nthey're supposed to have buffed metal claw by one energy, so I think it generates 7 per metal claw. Try just switching steel wing to metal claw on Empoleon, and it should be close to the same. I think steel wing just does 1 more base damage, but I'd have to check to be sure.

QOTD: I feel like the GL meta is actually smaller this season, but somehow, I like it. I think it has to do with the fact that the best Pokémon have been pretty accessible, compared to previous seasons when stuff like Medicham and Lickitung were so hard to build and required real grinding. I could go outside and build a brand new Clodsire in 2 hours. If you don't have a Malamar after last week, that's on you. I've seen a handful of wild Croconaw wild, too, so I could build a Feraligatr from scratch if I wanted to. And Vullaby is always something I tend to get in Rank 20 rewards, so Mandibuzz is buildable for anybody who battles regularly. I personally think that in the several seasons of battling, this is by far the most accessible GL meta we've ever seen, and I love that. I just don't see that big gatekeeper Pokémon that's hard to build and towers over the meta. Anybody could start battling this season.

QOTD: More variety yes BUT Clodsire is extremely over-centralising but if that's the price to pay for a fluid and diverse meta, then maybe it's worth (though is funny that both Clodsire sets are ranked 1 and 2 on pvp poke atm)

QOTD: I do think great league is repetitive but I'm really enjoying ultra league. Lot's of options and I don't see the same pokemon every battle (even if only 1 in 5 battles someone isn't running ferraligtr lol)

QOTD: For the meta, I don't personally think it will change too terribly much, but we may see some more mons out there! However, I do have a planned team to counter the top metas in the works, saving up stardust and candies just so I can make it work. Though, I can't yet say what mons I am using (for obvious reasons)

It's condensed in one sense. you have 3 or 4 teams with solid triple A scorecards against the Meta. But the type coring creates an insane diversity for corebreakers. I run abomasnow with leafage, and it has swept clodsire-feraligatr-mandibuzz teams. The diversity of threats turn ace rank into an absolute warzone and its very fun. the 50 second switch timer makes such a big difference in utilizing machamp properly as well as other spamming mons. My shadow typhlosion is absolutely plowing this season

It’s more condensed, but not seeing mudboi/flyer or a degen basti team 3 out of 5 games has been nice. My main gripe is that dunsparce has taken over as the killer of fun. It’s just too good neutrally and wrecks spice
