In this video, we take the recently built Land Rover Perentie 6x6 into the Victorian High Country to test its limits. Enjoy and let me know what you think.

Why are you recovering of the tow hitch? With an investment into a rig of this type I would think your expertise would have you knowing this is not a wise way to recovery.
@daring2venture671Ай бұрын
Hey mate, thanks for the comment, I dint actually have the tow hitch on as I was working on it at home. these trucks also came standard with a pintle not a ball. I only had to lightly tug him out, so pulling in a straight line back off the cargo lifting hook I thought was going to get the job done :)

More the strap is on his tow ball? I see you only did a tow recovery but even so why run the risk and why even demonstrate that. @@daring2venture671

Very Scary… glad it did not snap off and kill ya…

@@daring2venture671 Madmatt would have been referring to you attaching the recovery strap to the towball of the bogged vehicle. Plenty of videos online of the towball snapping off & going thru windows & worse. You did a gentle snatch but it still stresses the towball, best to wrap the strap around the chassis crossmember. Good vid though. Wonnangatta never disappoints. Good thing there was no Jetstar pilot to have a say about the drone..😄

@@deejay3218 Hey mate, thanks for the heads up. Ill remember that for next time. thanks for the sound advice :)

Awesome rig. I wouldn't want to be sharing the video bit where you are sitting on the top of the truck whilst its moving. We have the sort of authorities in this country who wouldn't let families keep a magpie as a pet. BTW, is the Isuzu motor a turbo or non-turbo?

Shame you didn't get a GMV 6x6.. would love to see how that would go as a camper..

You might find those hubs need grease that would hold back the oil.

Brilliant set up mate. Love the canopy. Just wondering if you have Salisbury diffs?
@daring2venture671Ай бұрын
Hey mate, cheers. It was a mission to get it built 😂 yes. The Salisbury diffs come with the truck standard 👍🏾

Free wheeling hubs have an o ring seal normally around the cap but they also have bearing grease in them not diff oil so id say you need a oil seal on your axel and run bearing grease in the hub for the bearings not diff oil as its too thin id ask a mechanic about this but i think im on right track as oil seeps past the o ring seal aisin and warn brand hubs i know do have the seal pulling the hub completely apart to inspect or a call to manufacturer is only way to know if hub has a seal in it best of luck
@daring2venture671Ай бұрын
Thanks mate, yes, you're right, bearing grease is normally used, but funnily not in these ones. I actually disregarded the instructions and added in my own bearing grease and initially thought that this was the issue maybe blocking the seal or something. There is a solution on the way, I will make a vid to sort it all out hopefully :) thanks again.

oh if they are new yeah shouldnnt leak. should be o ring seal in there behind the red dial

.. yeah maybe go side i think its less deap

Why have you got free wheeling hubs on the rear axle anyway? Aussie army has been using these utes for years, well proven
@daring2venture671Ай бұрын
Hi mate, thanks for your comment, The FWHs take the unneeded wear off the rear axle when doing longer bitumen stretches of road. I will put up another vid soon with some other issues with the cerntre wheel bearing etc. that was also identified as an issue. cheers.

I think that could be said for every state in Australia (I'm in W.A.)

Driving that rig on wet tracks will destroy them. Is it really neccesary?
@tubeuserc124 күн бұрын
The truck is an ex army 6x6, it's what they were built for
@MartyOBrien-vz2kt17 күн бұрын
I appreciate that, for the military. Totally unnecessary and ruins the tracks for everyone and causes closures.
