It depends which Miata. NA-NB can only go so fast and the optional cruise control. ND I've reached triple digits on long stretches but a bit stiffer ride.
@Talynen4 жыл бұрын
@@jg5001 My dad has a 90 NA, and the gearing is short enough that its turning 3000 RPM to do an indicated 60 MPH. Even though it has cruise control, it has a nice sporty sounding exhaust (that drones at highway speeds) and the wind noise from the soft top is enough to get on your nerves after a while. Plus the lack of head room. So, even with cruise control it's really not a great road trip car. My '91 Civic hatch is a much better car for long drives in comparison. It too needs some additional sound deadening to be what you might call "refined", but a set of ear buds cut down the background noise enough that you can ignore it.

I miss my 1998 DX Hatch. Also didn't have AC, but too busy doing real driving to care. I put 300,000km on it and never got rear ended or rear ended anyone while constantly redlining it. Key to the safe driving is NO sway bar. However, Had strut bar all around, including rear upper. Pro-Kit springs with Tokico Shocks. Without the swaybars, it allows the progressive springs and double wishbone suspension to do it's magic (this car needs to lean into turns). The car is a monster at finding grip in the most chaotic situation. Might lose a few second off the track time (bit of under-steer without rear sways), but on the street, this setup cannot be beaten by any car in existence.

My first new car purchased was a red, 1989 Honda Civic hatchback, manual transmission, no A/C, no stock radio. $6,600.00. First Miata was a red, 1992, manual transmission, with matching stock hardtop. Both excellent vehicles. Reliable, easy to work on, & will last forever.

Wow. I'm amazed. You guys have given me a goal to do in life. I would love to do this with my friends some day before I pass. Thank you so much.

Do note that the Jackson Racing SC is a Roots blower, not a Twin Screw. There is a difference.

Same bro 👌 the ek hatch has always been my dream budget build. And I also live in California and that one of the reasons I didn’t get one.

What I learned when I finally got a convertible was that the temp range to truly enjoy the top down is more between 60 and 76 and not a "hot day" like one would think.

@@wheeloftrash4113 EX is the trim level, the technical name for the 6th generation civic in North America is EH2, but people tend to call it the EK because that's what it is in Japan.

@@QuintonTV actually I made a mistake, EJ is the designation in NA for the 6th gen, 5th gen is EH.

@@justryan5697 I know homie, I had a 98 hatch, literally said EJ6 in the VIN. I usually just call it EK so most will understand.
