Great boards from Charlie, since ‘84. This seems Great for Me, gonna Try. Mahalo HSC!🌈🌊👍

Bought a 7'2" real pintail at HSC back in 1992. Surfed big Sunset on it, Pinballs ... but got my best barrel out at 3' Makaha! Went into that shorebreak closeout, backwash hit it & it opened up for a clean long barrel just before the sand! Oh and nearly drowned on the bowl section out big Hanalei Bay. Tip: Don't go for closeout barrels on that warping inside bowl section - the hold-down wasn't very much fun at all.

The wide hips and full tail area reminds me of the love affair of 5 McCoy Nuggets, looks like it would love hollow walls.

how does this go in tiny waves? Looking for a summer board when it's small

Aloha Tom, this board shines in the weaker, crap surf. Works great in clean surf too, of course. But I was very surprised how well it floated in onshore crap, stayed maneuverable (quad setup), yet stayed connected to the water. Wasn't too skatey like wide tail fishes in overhead surf. I recently tried the 8 0 Moe, set up as a widowmaker. The 8 0 catches waves easier than a typical 9 0. Easy to whip around and cork into waves. Yet obviously easy to step back on the tail. If you are on island we have demos of all 3 sizes.

Did you have any trouble duck diving the 7' 2"?
@hanaleisurfcompany93122 жыл бұрын
like most big boards, only on repetetive duck dives, but you will never be able to duck dive a 50L board as quick as a 30L board ;) i weigh 200 lbs so duck diving under the lip no problem, waves that break right in front of you, that always sucks. if you surf where there are channels no problem, if you surf intense beachbreaks or shorepound, I would get a different board.

@@hanaleisurfcompany9312 It seems like midlengths aren't the best for beachbreaks or shorepound? From what I've seen so far, most of them are on the higher volume side. Which boards should I be looking at if I want something easy to paddle, but still be able to duck dive easily?

@@livedeliciously The mid6 boards are pretty sick, a lot of guys who have both prefer the mid6 when it is overhead, out here where we have slabby reef breaks. gotta answer these questions: where do you live/surf? approx height weight? how long have you been surfing?
