i think its great for crossfit for castro to go live and interact with the community. Even if only here and there. that was fun.

Congrats on finishing the athlete interviews. They were a lot of fun to watch and for all those complaining they’re not on the CrossFit channel, I am just happy we got them at all. Looking forward to what’s next!

You could turn this into an amazing podcast! With your background and access the ability for HQ to be on the forefront of pods and news would be so huge for the worldwide community. Think Rogan but for the CrossFit community.

I can’t wait to see the one mile run. I’ve been curious about the athletes mile time for a while. It’s going to be a great event!

Oh post-Games interviews, yay! Interested to hear how their pre-Game opinions/expectations compare to their post-Games experience. The style and vibe of the athlete interviews are spot-on. Looking forward to more! 😁

Love when top athletes do class. There’s obviously a need to train more volume for the top athletes, but using class for your GPP and as the “anchor” to plan the rest of your training (weakness work etc.) around is a great idea. This is how you galvanize a community, lead by example, and stay true to CrossFit’s theory of “program for the best, scale for the rest.” This is exactly how I trained for 7 years before making it to the Games. I was never extremely talented and it took me a long time to get there. That should stand as a testament to the efficacy of the program. Class was always part of the routine. Side note: Last I spoke to Adler I’m pretty sure he told me he jumps into classes on a regular basis.

Chad twist: athletes ranked next to each other will use the same box. This will create a mano e mano dynamic that’s lacking in CrossFit.

Hey Dave, i guess you don't know that all three podiums women from last year, belonged to no Big trainings camp. Why should be the porous of the trainings camp winner this year?

Attempt #3 😃 Thank you for your content! I've really enjoyed the Athlete Interview series! I feel like I have more vested interest in all the athletes going into the Games. Now that CrossFit is working closely with Goruck for the next couple years, have you ever thought about having an event similar to their Goruck Selection? Something where it would test their mental fitness for a very long duration? For example, kick off the Games with a 12 hour overnight event where they would need to do a short (3-7 min) workout every hour on the hour? It would be more about a long mental fitness duration test, challenged with a little sleep deprivation.

Have you thought any more on a triple crown event or something similar? For instance taking comps like WZA and Rogue to factor in with placing at CrossFit Games. I'd argue that an athlete who can compete year round and place well is more fit than an athlete who only does one big comp per year. Maybe the top 3 to 5 placing would get additional points going into the games.

Since jumping into the corrupt world of olive oil making, have you received any threats or warnings from underworld olive oil bosses wanting to control your product? Also, any good books on this subject?

Dave, forget the live weekly update. If the whole point of these is to give a weekly update, you can do that just fine without the distraction of a live comment section. The updates were going so well before. Sure it "drives engagement", but for those of us just looking for info the live comments seem more like a gimmick that podcasters do simply because they need to fill time.

Hi Dave, two questions: #1 though it was a complete cluster fuck, how likely are we to see crossover double unders? The pegboard destroyed athletes when it was first introduced but the next year we saw the advancement in skill. #2 would we ever see advanced aquatic skills in the future like what the Deep End Fitness guys do? (Under water farmers carries, under water bobs)

You seem to love pushing the athletes to their limits. Did you ever consider becoming a SEAL instructor full time? And does any part of you ever wish you were on the athlete side instead of creating the tests for the athletes?

Hey Dave, Curious to understand the decision behind the introduction of the “Training Camp” award at the games. Especially after you said that you find the notion of training camps to be silly in one of the athletes interviews. Thanks!
