I had a little trouble figuring out how to get the ford heater hose quick connect removed. Turns out it is a pretty straightforward job when you understand whats happening, and what needs to happen. Hopefully this video helps.

Lmao when taking the quick connect off was the hardest part of the job for me

Thanks for video. Do you have suggestions for finding a new hose? My 2001 is obsolete.

is there any aftermarket company that makes a replacement? Often if you search for the old ford part number on these trucks there is a secondary option because of how many of them were made. Best of luck finding a work around!

I just went to oreilly and bought some 5/8” hose. I got like 10 feet cause I replace both sides

I tried doing it this way but there is no room to have any kind of leverage to squeeze the ears and pull on the hose at the same time. I ended up just cutting plastic off, I used a metal saw blade and that allowed the hose to come off.

sounds like you got er done. 👍

@@JesseMcFie yes, I wish ford hadn't designed it that way. It was really uncomfortable to get to that hose assembly. Those 2 nuts that hold it back there are also a pain. Thanks for the video, I really wanted to do it without cutting it but I figured it was going to take me way too long.

That ring you broke is a spacer, not an O-ring.

@@JesseMcFie Yes, there is supposed to be 2 rubber gaskets and one plastic spacer per quick connect, according to my research, and what came out of the quick connect coupler. It goes rubber gasket, plastic spacer, then another rubber gasket. Just replaced mine after 21 years and the plastic spacer was virtually non existent, hence the leaking down onto my leaf spring just like yours. It is definitely a quick connect unit, however, after 21 years it was not so much a quick disconnect unit.🤦♂️

O-ring then spacer, then O-ring.. make sure they are all there to prevent a leak.

@@JesseMcFie Actually there are TWO O-RINGS separate with a yellowish spacer you broke...

If the hose broke off is lot better if you use a long screw driver heat it up the end burn the look where clamp still attached
