Good Job ! It looks like such a nightmare too. You make it look easy :o) Questions, 1. How do you know you have a 5 micron filter in your fuel control center? 2. Where is the list of products you have added to your truck and speak of in many of your videos? 3. How much do you have invested in your truck? $$$$ Thanks for a great video series. I have learned much.

Thank you for watching, and commenting. Q1- I looked up the specs on the filter to find the micron rating. Q2- I don't have a list of parts... Maybe a good video for me to do. Q3- about $5,000 into upgrades on the engine.

I’ll truly be shocked if this series doesn’t have 3-4 million views across all 7-8 videos in a year or so. I know I’ve watched them all 2-3x already. Might be the only videos on the internet that go into such detail with great quality. . I mounted my 02 7.3L on a 06 frame and a 12 cab and 15 dash and KR Interior. Ha. Still working on firewall issues, dash /harness rewire, radiator mounts, etc. let me know if u start doing this full time. I’ll be your first customer! Haha

That truck is setup and put together better than a factory 7.3 truck. Love the fact that you took your time and made everything perfect! Definitely gives me motivation to start on my 97 project. @mygarage.
@mygarage. Жыл бұрын
Yeah, I spoke with the guys at full force diesel. They suggest 68 psi for their hybrid injectors. The pressure is being regulated by the pressure regulator. It's the black piece with the metal lines and the fuel pressure gauge on it. I can't remember the micron rating off the top of my head.... I believe it is 14 microns??? I'd have to look in the motorcraft specs to be sure. I know the 6.0 has a higher micron requirement than a 7.3.

I know your series is about a year old but I'm about to take on the same project and I have so many questions, specifically fuel and wiring. My truck is a 95 f350 crew cab dually. It has the same options as yours with the keyless entry, alarm, power windows,locks and cruise. The donor is a rolled 96 f250 xl single cab 2wd so no power anything or cruise.
@mygarage.
@mygarage. 2 жыл бұрын
So the wiring is a tedious job but isn't as bad as I thought it would be. 95 and 96 will use the same bulk head connectors but pinned differently. Just take it 1 wire at a time and transfer over the wires for the diesel. I started with 1 connector, and pin #1, then pin #2, and worked my way all the way through. Just need to be patient and set time aside so you can focus on it from start to finish.

Question, why couldn't you use the fuel tanks and lines from the gas setup? I'm swapping my 460 auto to a 7.3 manual.
@mygarage.
@mygarage. 2 жыл бұрын
The tanks are the same, but the lines and routing are different. The diesel tanks vent to atmosphere, where the gas tanks vent through a charcoal canister. I swapped the tanks because I had junk in the rear, and the front had gas in it. It wasn't that big of a deal to switch them. The gas set up uses an intake pump that can produce about 60 psi. max, it's not enough fuel flow and pressure for the hybrid injectors. The other issue is the diesel uses a fuel tank selector valve, where the gas uses a switch to turn on either the front pump, or rear pump. So it would need additional wiring that I didn't want to do.
@joeymartin343
@joeymartin343 2 ай бұрын
I followed your video and installed the HFCM, but I'm getting air in my fuel lines. I've dropped both front and rear tanks replaced the pickup tubes (helped), got a new tank selector valve (helped). I'm wondering if you installed the secondary filter from the 6.0L fuel system or deleted it from the fuel system? I'm looking at adding it in to help separate the air from fuel. Currently I get no air in the lines for about a minute and then get a push through of air.

Yes I did, but I didn't want to change the valve springs, and an exhaust brake doesn't work well with an automatic. I believe the over run clutch basically goes into neutral then the exhaust brake doesn't do much.
@hankclingingsmith8707
@hankclingingsmith8707 2 жыл бұрын
That is not true. Exuast brake works excellent with automatic. Depending on your tuner. Dp tuner knows what to do. Or you can use a banks smart lock it holds lock up on trans all the way down to 1000 rpm

I should specify. I don't think it will work with my transmission. I have a Sam Wyse stage 2, if I recall correctly, exhaust brake will not work well, and I don't think there is tuning available for the PHP and my set up. I could be completely wrong, but I haven't looked into it.

Hey man awesome videos! Is there anyway you can share where you got the online wiring schematics? Currently doing the same swap. Thanks man!
@mygarage.
@mygarage. 4 жыл бұрын
I was just looking at wire schematics from All Data and Mitchell. Unfortunately, there isn't a link I can share, or a website that I could suggest. I just printed out the wire diagrams for both trucks and laid them out side by side and highlighted the differences.

Ha! I thought the same thing while I was doing that. Unfortunately, that is the way you have to do it to get these HEUI systems back to life. I did keep an eye on how hot the starter was getting and it did surprisingly well.

Thank you for watching! I've been trying to get the next video out. I think I'm going to scrap it because it is a lot of boring video of me replacing the carpet, and re upholstering the seats. I have Episode 9 set as the test drive.... might just have to skip to it. Please stay tuned. I will have it out soon as well as a few other videos of work done to the truck. Thank you for your support!!

If you build it, they will come. You may think it's boring to post something carpet or upholstery work but remember, people watch other people play video games. What could be more boring than that?
