Nice truck. I've got an 01 dodge ram 2500 Cummings. I run the glow shift gauges too. Upgraded turbo, hyper tech tuner, 4" exhaust, big air horn, fisher minute mount plow, air dog injection pump, reinforced the frame and built a hydraulic wheel lift on the back with air bags, air shocks, added a leaf spring and added a lowering kit cause it sat to high and a heavy duty winch that comes from behind the tag.

thanks for sharing nice little rig you got set up. Always loved those 7.3 had them as company trucks since the get go. Bought myself an 06 F250 Harley Davidson Edition and just love it. In my opinion there is no better looking truck than the 05 to 07 models and even the prior ones as well I prefer over the next couple of evolutions of their design but for me.. Nothing looks as good as those Ford trucks..

~ WASTE GATE CLIP TRICK ~ Mine has been gone for years. I used the tip of a HEI style spark plug wire. The part that snaps on the distributor snaps perfectly where the clip used to go. Easy to see if it drops, and easy to take on and off. Lots of 4X4 rough miles & never a issue.

Thanks Smalls. I upgraded the turbo in my 2000 f550. When tuned for stock the egts are steady at 1000, but when tuned for high performance towing I only get 3 seconds of throttle before I hit 1250. I need to upgrade my exhaust from 3.5 to 4 inch. Maybe a water meth kit. I want to pin it all the time and not have to watch my gauge.

Sounds good. The 4 inch exhaust will definitely help to get that hot gas out of your engine. I hear a turbo won't melt down until about 1350 degrees. However keep this in mind your temperature will drop a hundred degrees before it gets to your exhaust probe sensor.

FYI people, you should not have to do anything but cut .5" off the wastegate actuator for this install. You hook up intake spider first then bolt up housing. Make sure wheel spins freely and your ready to roll. Not sure why smalls unit wouldn't line up, but that's not the norm.

I got my temperature gauge alarm set at 1250 so at 1250 alarm comes on and I back off the throttle. The other factors are if I'm pulling a big load up the hill or racing thats when I see the higher temperatures just drive it around it runs about normal.

I had high Egt's on my 7.3 found that my up pipes were leaking. Installed new bellowed pipe kit problem solved. fyi not easy to install up pipes but well worth the lower egt's . pipes will be black above the transmission near the back of the turbo....

Your gauge 'flashes' on camera because it's LED back lit. LEDs actually flash ON and OFF at a frequency faster than you can detect to keep them cooler. You camera is probably capturing frames per second at around 24, 30, 60 or so and capturing some of the LED flashes.

Buy a Ravelco to protect that awesome investment. Also that edge tuner can have 4 temps showing, you have 3. Trans temp is on there i believe. If i put the WW2 on the stock turbo will it shorten the life of a turbo? i have the same set up as you minus the upgraded turbo.

I have a f350 Dually 2000, 100% stock, change 2 Times the auto transmission, almost sell the truck for that transmissions problems, then change trans for manual zf6 and just loved, REALLY IS ANOTHER TRUCK , better fuel mileage, better Turbo whistle, less turbo lag, pull in the climbs almost 50% harder and faster, the pac brake work better. All this benefits without change the rear end, I can't wait for make upgrade in the turbo and pcm. CONCLUSIONS; IS THE BETTER UPGRADE CAN YOU MAKE TO THESE TRUCK.

WASTE GATE CLIP >>> Just to let people know, the little metal tip that snaps on a spark plug, (or the HEI side) is a great replacement for lost snap rings on the waste gate. I prefer it since it's easy to handle. Just use a quality brand. .. 75k later, and hundreds of hours off roading, still perfect...

After all that work done? What kind of performance gains did you get from that? It seems to me this was just to make it look a little prettier and sound a lot louder. You'll learn to get annoyed if you drive the truck for some hours on a trip or something. I drive my truck for a living, sometimes more than 16 hours in the seat. I wouldn't make that turbo any louder, but that's my preference. But back to the original question. What was the performance gains?

He added a ported compressor housing, which stops the surge caused at higher than stock boost levels. If you're bone stock, you'll probably not notice a big improvement, on a truck with an intake exhaust and chip pushing 25+ psi, it's very noticeable, and harmful to the turbo. You'll also notice an increased compressor map, meaning spooling sooner and carrying out father into the rev range.

yes I have a tuner. it is an edge juice with attitude. it is a stock tuner with no programing done to it. you can program it but mine is stock. I had to do a few modifications to the compressor housing than that was just due to the fact that it wasn't a good fit yours might fit just fine. you'll never know until you get in the project

I have an 02 F250 w/ 7.3 and in addition to what you have done, look at Banks Cold Air intake... its a bolt on kit and increases your MPG by about almost 6 ( for me anyway). also I pull a 30ft bumper pull prowler and also a 27ft. v-nose trailer and my tranny got hot so instead of cooking it, I had the filter replaced and am running Royal purple fluid also had a aftermarket inline cooler installed for th tranny so I use the standard 14row + the added 19row and my tranny temp runs super cold around 185-189ish... with this set up and living in Phoenix Az, it gets HOT... she does not even know either trailer is behind her. great video BTW.

the compressor housing will fix your problem. you don't need to change the wheel. I just upgraded mine because I was into the housing anyway. but the compressor housing is the problem. change that and you should be good.

I pull a 27 foot 5th wheel and my boat behind it. with the extra power and torque it's hard on your drive train. it you take it easy the stock transmission is fine. I blew mine up so I replaced it with bigger. hope this helps

What is can be wrong when 7.3 idi turbo 1993 engine is hard to start smoke come under the hood when i try turn the engine glow plug realy do clicking noises? That is normal? i am new in diesel engines. Also the engine is miss sounds like tractor on the road what is can be wrong? The engine in idle is not smoke sounds okay

Sounds like you have a few glow plugs that are going bad. The solenoid under the hood will still engage in make that clicking noise. I had the same problem with mine. Good luck

How much is cost you replace that glow plugs. My truck i had buy almost one month. I take to mechanic fix one diesel leak and i tell to him check my truck what thinks need more and tell me. I not know why the mechanic no tell me i have bad glow plugs. Thank you for you tell me that. Is weird my tuck when in the morning i try start the engine because no crank the first time i try more and i see white smoke come from the back of the engine. I see is have the exhaust one cover looks like aluminum i cant see if the exhaust had hole in that spot. When the engine is warm is start fine. one more problem i feel on the road the engine is miss when i accelerate. I am new in diesel i not know if other trucks with same engine as my truck is do that

Haralabos Lukatos my truck had the same problem. The first time starting it I had white smoke. After the truck was warm it would start fine. your mechanic could miss the glow plug problem very easily. I only knew my glow plugs were bad because it was really cold and wouldn't start. I change my globe plugs myself however if you don't have the right tools I would suggest having your mechanic do it for you. my truck would leak white smoke from the engine as well but if you're getting a lot of smoke you might want to look into that it might be a leak

Thank you for your answer. Is my first diesel truck. That clicking sounds when the key is turn on and the battery cauge is go up and down with the clicks is normal? Yes my truck do that hard to start when is cold the engine and is warm days now. later the day when engine is warm is start fine with the first time i turn the key. I ask the mechanic again check my truck. White smoke is do only when the engine is cold and no start i see white smoke is coming from back of the relay is cover the exhaust in that spot i see is coming the smoke. I cant see if the exhaust had hole in that spot.That i feel my truck is miss in 7.3 idi turbo is do that? I mean is miss or the 7.3 engine is run like that in the accelaration

Now you need an Extreme bypass oil filter that cleans the oil down to 1 micron. That and Schaffer 9000 pure synthetic and your oil change can go to 80,000 to 100,000 miles. www.insanediesel.com.
