7-4 but they're not fucking around ...this is beautiful. You took what i started and lifted it above a shitpost. you made *art.* I felt V1's agony when Benjamin told it like it was to him. He was *pissed.* also, the concept of Ben continuing to speak through sheer spite is kinda chilling. ...I don't suppose i could humbly request your take on V1 and V2's fights? At your discretion, of course. Thanks for making this.

@@TheRealGears Oh wow, it’s you! I really enjoyed your renditions, they made me laugh. That means a lot, thank you so much! Honestly, I’d be very inclined to try the V2 fights - they’re a lot briefer and more concentrated, so I could afford to ensure every line is painstakingly crafted. There’s a lot to be explored there. I wonder what V1 would actually feel about the battle, pumping lead into the version of itself that actually contributed some good to the world. Or would have, if V2 had been mass produced. Actually, as far as I’m aware, V2 is also in hell in desperate for blood, so it isn’t really more virtuous over V1. In fact it’s more of a fallen angel, because it wasn’t designed for war at all, and doesn’t even need blood as desperately as V1 - yet still adopts the murderous ways (!!!) Just spitballing, but it seems there’s a lot of substance here. I think I’m gonna go for it :) Thanks for enjoying!

@@jogolord8122I would think that V2 would be in hell not only for blood, but because it thinks it *needs* to kill everyone in hell. Because they’re sinners, or as it calls them, “criminals”. Bad people go to hell, so V2, as a peacekeeper with no one to really protect, is clearing out hell for its own twisted sense of “Justice”, and it resents V1 for the violence that it commits

I originally envisioned the reason for V1’s prayer to be some sort of desperate cling to the Father’s light, haphazard prayers upon reaching each layer to be ‘eligible’ for mercy and forgiveness. Obviously though, V1 is quite literally descending through hell so it is doomed before it even begins the “Our Father”. However - I honestly love this interpretation so much! It fits so much better with V1’s character of a brash, angry warrior. I might even consider continuing with that idea with how well it fits.

The concept of the Earthmover- this titanic walking fortress chained by the roots of the transfigured trees and firing endlessly at its comrades across the ashen plains, addressing you not with overt intimidation but slowly and steadily psychoanalysing you, calmly tearing your motives and goals apart piece by piece even as you destroy it has got to be the coolest concept I’ve seen for this fight. It really sells the age of the machine, sequestered in the depths and chained to life after its earthly demise, ruling over Violence as the pinnacle of man’s desire for destruction. It needs no energy lance to pierce into the blood soaked heart of V1, for its own words inflict wounds more grievous than any weapon within its arsenal could ever cause.

@jogolord81228 күн бұрын
Hahaha, right on. I refunded Cruelty Squad two separate times and the third time I fell in love with it, I’ve S ranked most levels. Tbh I think about that “speech” in the 3rd ending more often than I should, it’s amazingly rich and bizarre. It probably did influence how I wrote for Earthmover here- and funnily enough, it also influenced Hakita. In the most recent developer commentary, when talking about the secret “This is the only way it should have ended” speech, he cited Ville Kallio (the creator of cruelty squad) as an inspiration for it! There’s something so fitting about that sort of language when referring to the Earthmover. Hilariously, I’ve thought of another similarity - in Pyrocynical’s cruelty squad video, the TTS he uses for the 3rd ending speech sounds remarkably similar to the TTS for Earthmover I used in this video.
@broccolite82978 күн бұрын
@@jogolord8122 Yes! I knew about Hakita's interest in Ville Kallio's Cruelty Squad from that same dev stream. Such a small world (over there in Finland). Also, yes. I couldn't help but think about the TTS from Pyro's video as well when listening to the Earthmover. All things considered, though, it was evidently the correct voice to use. That same looming presence was felt between each one and it was priceless. I honestly hope you do something more like this. It's art more than anything.
