I hope you guys found this video helpful. This is exactly why I don’t consider handbags an investment. Majority of the time you will lose money, unless you bought the item years ago and were able to double your money back. The big dogs, Hermes, Chanel and LV, hold their value the best (sometimes though, because seasonal pieces don’t seem to hold as much) whereas houses like Gucci, YSL, etc, the losses are greater. If I’m able to get some money back on a bag that I enjoyed to the fullest, then that’s a win in my book. Resale isn’t everything. For those of you who are in the process of selling, I wish you loads of luck selling your goodies and may you get some awesome quotes/pricing for them ♥️

I feel the same way about the sheen on the Goyard tote. The colors of their bags are gorgeous and I like their more structured styles, but I feel that the shiny look and the lack of any structure (sagging bottom with items in it) looks cheap.

Bad time to sell right now. I submitted a few Chanel bags at Fashionphile and Rebag. In anticipation of a Birkin offer that's supposed to be coming this year. But the buyout offers were super low. I never expect to make money. Because they are used items. But considering my bags are in great condition, I would want better offers.

I don’t disagree with you about the Goyard tote at all. I never got all the hype with the brand, especially with how their canvas looks cheap as heck like it’s supposed to be a FGWP or something. While I like some of their silhouettes and love their vibrant colors, I don’t think their prices are worth what they’re asking for. I think it is fabulous you donated the $ from the gifted bags to charity! I have the best prices with Yoogis when I do consignment for some reason after FP went to strictly buyout offers, they just started low balling, and it found it rude : ( YC has always had great customer service, so I find them better to deal with. I have always been a bit scared to sell with RR but I have purchased some killer deals with them. I just wanted to tell you how pretty purple is on you, you're glowing, its defiantly your color! The part where you said the bag felt more like a prop, I felt the same way with the classic Chanel double flap bag lol. I never use them. As a tomboy who isn't very feminine wearing that bag feels like I'm putting on a consume, it's better suited for someone more feminine/elegant. Now the Chanel boy I do love, although I ended up not using them as much because of now expensive they are 😄

Great video. TFS your experiences reselling your items. I had the worst experience trying to cosign with an IG popular reseller. I should have waited for the Fashionphile quote, it was $100 more than the reseller buyout w/out the headache. I donated many of my older contemporary handbags to Goodwill when I downsized homes. I am looking to sell a few of my unused newer bags, do you have any recommendations? I was looking into listing them on Poshmark but I have no experience with their site. Michael Kors also has a preloved service but only if you have the purchases on your profile history directly from their boutique or site. My bags include Coach, D&B, Tory Burch, & MK. Any thoughts or recommendations? TY 😊

I’m looking for ONE all around tote (I do have other bags tho but my only other totes are the Chanel deauville and a Longchamp tote). I’m between LV gm or mm or goyard artois mm. I like the zipper of goyard. I want it for an everyday but toddler bag that has my stuff too. I’m not quite sure if the GM is too big but I carry quite a bit like a med pouch with epipens and emergency meds, restaurant kit that has utensils, crayons, scissors, my wallet, my pills pack, my tech/mommy bag catch call, cell phone, baby wipes, hand wipes, sanitizer, and sometimes an ipad😅. Since you have the mm and GM, which do you think is better? I’ve seen both in person but I still can’t decide. It’s not like I can try it for a week and see how it works out😅 . I also want it to last long which I know is LV over goyard. I just pretty much like the look of goyard and the zipper, idk if it’s actually a good in the long run bag.. thoughts!

What about the new tax laws we have to pay on items we sold through Resellers? Every year the threshold gets lower. I believe if you sell over $600 total sales a year you’re required to report and pay as income “the $600 Rule” . So now you’re paying taxes again on those items. Hard to find anyone addressing this.

Not sure what there is to address though. It’s taxable income if it’s a capital GAIN, not a loss. Or unless it’s a side business, then all income needs to be reported anyways. Most of these luxury goods in general are always sold at a loss unfortunately.

Not sure if you would know this but are pre loved bags eligible for repair? I read a few horror stories where customers were turned away from repair simply because they did not have proof of purchase. However, the bag would be authenticated as real. what should I do if I ever find myself in that situation?

I’ve purchased a few items Preloved and had them repaired without any issues. I literally just bought a vintage DA wallet that needed re-varnishing and sent it in 4 weeks ago. Waiting on it to come back any day 🥰♥️

I recently purchased a preloved LV Rose de Vents bag which is truly gorgeous. It has a very unique spring loaded clasp. Well night one out on the town, I went to get my credit card and the turnlock sprung off and hit the waiter. He scrambled about and handed it to me. I was mortified and so upset wondering what I was going to do. So I took it to my LVBoutique and they had it repaired for me with no questions! It did take 9 months so they waived the $200 repair fee!! Cudos to LV. I was go grateful they stood behind it as they should have.
