My 10th month old Ragdoll is quite the talker! And when she is hungry super long drawn out meows as if she hasnt eaten in days! I've had cats for 50 years and NEVER had one that messes up my sleep schedule so much! Meow meow meow and up at 6:05 am like clockwork! Never had a cat lay in the positions she does. Omg! I am so scared of bugs and he’s been a big help. Except when he meows for me to come and he’s showing me an ant on the wall at 3am lol. If I scream he’ll actually come running in the room. Saying “get em” is the search for bug command. Vet said I shouldn’t encourage him because if bug is poisonous or has insecticide he could get sick. thought all cats did these things but looking at videos of people showing their day with the ragdoll is almost identical

I have a rag doll kitty kat and she is one of the best things that has ever happened in my life. She was given to me as a gift a 8 wks of age. Now at 13 yrs old she owns me and rules the home. I'm her forever human and I belong to her. (p.s. her pure is silent but you can feel the vibration instead of hearing her purr ... also she can really talk up a storm when she wants my attention for a cuddle or a treat ... good lord I love my kat!)

My Tali kitty (old style Himalayan) learned how to turn off my alarm clock by standing on the buttons on top of the clock. I woke up during the night once and caught her turning off the alarm. I actually thought my alarm clock had something wrong with it, but Tali would always wake me within 15 minutes of the time the alarm was suppose to go off. She gave me some extra snooze time. It wasn't the clock, Tali just didn't like the sound of the alarm so she turned it off, problem solved. She was a smart kitty!!

I have two huge Maine Coon male cats and a female Ragdoll and she is very very small and she has a curly tail all the time. I think its a mutation. But thats the reason she is sooo sweet with her curly tail and she is able to chatter in so many different sounds: "Miau" is just one of her hundreds of different sounds but she is not intelligendst one but that's a reason to love her just more ;) and she is a little devil she provokes my huge Maine Coons all the time, but they dont care ;)

My ten yr old white Persian couldn’t meow when we got her. She just ‘eeked’ so my husband named her Squeek. She is very small and still looks like a kitten. She is only vocal when she wants food. At dawn. 😳 She adored my husband who passed away a year ago. She is still in mourning. Now I don’t want to replace my husband of 47 years so maybe she needs a companion. Bowie is adorable! My ragdoll is the same. Since he was small, he would never run from anything. It's concerning though because he once sat on the driveway, refusing to move from in front of the car... He's smart. He wouldn't sit in the middle of the road, but when something scares him he freezes. I'm not sure how much is bravery and how much is being placid or even submissive. The only other person I know who had a ragdoll, unfortunately, lost it earlier this year. Hit by a car. I wouldn't be surprised if it was due to this response that's been bred into them.

Hey is Bowie a Blue mitted or a lilac mitted? I can’t tell from the video. I just adopted a Seal Bi Color Lynx female and she is absolutely perfect. She loves my other cats and is so sweet and patient. I had two lilac point Balinese and the female died in Jan. My male Balinese was so devastated. After 5 months he was still pacing the house all day, barely eating and calling out for her. So we got a little female ragdoll kitten that was born on Christmas. Got her about three weeks ago and I am SO glad I did.😄

Hahaha Dedra! Yep that's how it goes! Mine was a real handful as a kitten! Even the 3yr old kitten was still just as crazy as when we got him at 9mo old! He didn't really start to calm down and show maturity until nearly 6yrs old. Now he's VERY laid back, but still loves to wake us up in his hunting twilight hours. When they get 5yrs or so they really start to mellow out and that's when they are wonderful about following commands (yep, just like a dog) and lounge around a lot more. His blue mitt coat has turned to a very dark gray now and I swear we should've named him "Emperious". He lays all regal and his coats has become a gorgeous majestic mane! He may not be rare, but there's no doubt this relaxed guy can be boss of the house if he wants to! I got the breed bc I don't like cats bc of the attitude but I love how flexible and soft they are. Whiskers has been everything I've wanted in a pet and more! As adults he really acts very little like a cat! I've never been bitten or scratched no matter how many baths or plastic bag rides he's given. Even the nephews love to yank on his coat and sit on him.. he loves everything, and tolerates what he doesn't love. I love this cat breed more than most dog breeds I know!

Thanks for the link. It states that all Birman have distinctive marks (gloves at the paws) ... like your ragdoll basically. That’s where I got confused but then the main difference comes with the size I suppose.

Yes, Ragdolls are really large and come in more colors. Ragdolls are expensive too and because they hate to be alone, it's better that someone is at home most at the time or take two Ragdolls but that's even more expensive.
