Fantastic riders! I also met Adrian in 2010 when he came to Toronto with Mike and Jeldo. We had a blast! A memory I will always cherish. Jay has always been one of my favs as well. But lately Ramon Angelow has been killing it!

funny how the ‘meta’ has shifted over the years. respectable fingerboarding back in the mid-aughts was all about landing clean combos, emphasis on filming/editing/song choice due to full lengths being so popular. now it seems everyone is striving for unique styles, or realism, having quirky obstacles over short 10 second clips. i do think it’s a shame kids won’t know how cool it was to be part of FFI or to be asked to film a part for like Skills United. it felt genuinely awesome to work on something big with your internet homies and have it fully realized
@cdplaya Жыл бұрын
That's the truth! I stopped posting on Instagram since it doesn't mesh well with how I want my fingerboarding to be seen. I'm definitely out of the meta haha P.S. Good to see you, Dan! :D
@bubbleflip Жыл бұрын
I completely agree. Although I've been fingerboarding since 1999 and was involved in the TD Forum/FFI/FBHQ forum era, I've never changed my fingerboard style and have never tried to be meta. I only begrudgingly followed the transition from longer YT edits to short edits/single clips on IG (but I moved to IG way later than most people).

Wow, I'm deeply humbled to be included in part of your list of best fingerboarders, especially by such an established fingerboard veteran like yourself. Thank you for featuring me and actually choosing some of my best freestyle clips! I was surprised by the inclusion and am relieved the choice of clips were good ones! However, Bubbleflip is overrated! I've posted my own personal list of favourite fingerboarders in a reply to your question in the comments. One question though... your video description says "six fingerboarders" but the video and the title has 7 fingerboarders, was one of these people initially overlooked? Or was it intentional? You can learn from six of them, but not the seventh person? Haha
@cdplaya Жыл бұрын
The six seven is an easter egg to see who paid attention hahaha I do something similar in all my videos ;-) Bubbleflip is not overrated imo!

Thanks for this video chris, it really helps in regards to finding fingerboarders who's style I'm interesting in replicating (other than you that is). I love the content as always and my kickflips back tails are just getting better and better with the advice you've given me. I'm also switching back to my 34mm days since I find the controll in tailsides given to me by those types of decks (specificaly more squared shapes) is unmatched
