I was enjoying the trail runs during the ultra training, hope you continue doing those for the variety! Gotta get those treadmill days in the winter for sure tho, Portland rain is miserable to run in up here :/ also would love to hear about getting faster on lower mileage!

Thank you for the help this training cycle. I ran CIM on Sunday and was able to smash my goal of Sub-3. Ended up running a 2:51:50 and hopefully BQing

Thanks for this helpful list! Haven't tried NB5 (yet), but have enjoyed NB4 on treadmill, so can def see it being great. Picked up Supernova Prima at a discount on Cyber Monday, and had my first treadmill run in them today. Like you said, nothing particularly amazing, but a solid, comfortable workhorse that gets the job done. I enjoyed it 👍 Other honourable mentions from my own list would include Deviate Nitro 3 and Mach 6. Comfortable, not too soft/mushy, with plenty of fun bounce to break up monotonous treadMILES 🙌

Good call on the deviate nitro! That one keeps getting snubbed 😂 such a great shoe though

I'm loving these training videos. I think it brings a whole other dynamic to the channel that is beneficial to any runner no matter their skill level. My weekly mileage is restricted due to life circumstances right now but getting in a 2 hour long run each week is essential for me! I've only been getting around 30 miles a week this past year yet was able to PR in the half running a 1:24:16. My low mileage has just forced me to basically focus on getting more quality miles rather than recovery miles. 2 hour long run and a quality workout were the bulk of my mileage with minimal recovery/easy miles. I think it would be a good idea to highlight some other training plans based on different weekly mileages. It'd be beneficial for new runners and time constricted runners!

Thanks Jace. Ever since you shared with me that you train at 30 miles week and how fast you are I've been thinking about it a lot! Super impressive and also inspiring for other runners

I love the "speed" focus. I have been running a bunch of trail and ultra's for the last few years (that's what got me into running) but now I am trying to get faster. I signed up for my first marathon in March (Tobacco Road, Durham) and I need to learn how to get fast. Training videos are my favorite. TIA

I actually prefer the Noosa Tri for treadmil running.

I always find myself pulling for the New Balance Propel v4 for treadmill runs. A super simple and comfortable upper, snappy midsole with the plastic plate, and just the right amount of firmness with the Fuel Cell foam

Books Hyperion 2 GTS is my go to treadmill shoe. Light, lower stack and slightly firmer
@john-tomlinsonКүн бұрын
Yeah it seems to me the treadmill is a time to try something low with more ground feel to work your feet. I often use Hyperion Max (1) which is similar to the shoe you mention. As is the Noosa Tri mentioned by @adamrush5729 . Or just plain the old Hyperion (1).

If you’re a heel-striker, the Pro 4 heel shreds on a treadmill in no time flat (long-time Endorphin Speed and Pro enthusiast here). Would be interesting to see what treadmill shoe to use based on outsole durability! 😂
@supwellКүн бұрын
That's good to know! I've had great durability out of the endorphin pro series so surprising to learn that

Btw adidas Boston 12 has the most indestructible outsole I've ever tried. 300 miles and nary a scratch

Treadmill runs = NB Rebel V3 or Adidas Boston 12. Traction is key! Treadmills can be dangerous.

Your limiter is v02 max when you run a 5k, lots of people can hold 13:00 5k pace for a 100m of course. But lots of people who go from longer distances down to 10k/5k can only hold v02 max for 4-5 min, vs when they have done those v02 sessions they can hold v02 max for 10-11 min. So I agree that speed isn’t a limiter, it’s probably v02 max for those people or aerobic capacity

would love to see more family style vlogs (cooking, grocery shopping, coffee shops, etc), similar to your ultra video where you walked around town after. felt very home-e and vibey!!

As a 42 year old father a treadmill at home has allowed for more miles that don’t conflict with family life and less wear and tear on my body while still getting base cardio work . You could have a Tuesday Training talk on the best training resources for different age ranges as well as experience levels . Also a Body types and running may also be a talk ?

Vomero 17 and Ghost Max are really good treadmill shoes. Unfortunately Novablast 3 agitates the ball of my foot between the first and second toe. Sucks because I want to try the NB5, but I know the trampoline effect area as they call it is not gonna work for me anytime soon. That being said I am looking forward to filling a whole in my rotation where the Nimbus 25 was with the Nimbud 27 which looks really good.

Can't wait for the nimbus 27 as well! Was looking at pics on the Asics website yesterday 😂
