This is a very informative video. Im still hesitant on investing in scv but, im thinking i should take a chance and do it by using your value pack.

I own AVUS, AVLV, AVUV, AVDE, AVIV, AVDV, and AVES. I've been tempted to ditch AVUS for VTI, and lose AVLV and AVIV for momentum, but so far I've resisted because it seems to be the wrong time to sell value while growth and momentum are at the top of their game.

thanks for the effort and sharing. i am an appreciative subscriber. your thoughts on midcap value etfs as a less volatile substitute for smallcap value but still adhering to both size/value factor premiums in comparison to the total us market? thumbs up.
@OptimizedPortfolio Жыл бұрын
I'm not opposed to mid caps but I'd rather take up more concentrated exposure within small caps.

Good review! For EM I personally like multi-cap value/profitability. Research shows that value and profitability were the best factors in EM and not the Size factor. The size factor benefit in EM was razor thin. Think about it - Small Value companies in Emerging Markets? I don’t need to specifically target that. You would be better off trying to focus on Large & Midcap EM stocks with the value/profitability factor. So that’s just my view and thus AVES would be perfectly fine as you nicely covered - so yes I prefer that than the EM LV + SV barbell approach.

Not so much Size specifically, more that other factors like Value tend to be more "powerful" within the small cap universe globally.

Hi John, I know you did a post a few months ago on AVMV. I am in VOO, VXUS, AVUV, AVDV, DGS. I was looking to add some mid-cap exposure and was debating adding AVMV to target mid-caps Vs adding more of AVUV. I would love to know your thoughts on AVMV esp. since you have also chosen to not include US mid-caps in your own portfolio. Thanks
@OptimizedPortfolio6 ай бұрын
I haven't really looked too much into it specifically.

@OptimizedPortfolio Thanks for getting back, John. AVMV and RWK caught my eye. I wanted to read more about it, but not many have done analysis on these. I will keep an eye on your blog in case you speak about mid-caps in the near future.

May I ask you a question? DGS = Emerging Markets ( MAIN Small Cap Value ) AVES = Emerging Markets ( a little Mid-Cap Value + a little Small Cap Value ) so you prefer DGS right ? May I ask you a question? you think DGS > AVES Right ? My English is terrible , sorry ~~

As usual thanks for your work John. I’m in the process of moving my Roth to M1. Deciding on how to break up the pie is harder than I ever imagined. VTI and AVUV will be on there, as well as VWO. I want a value play now though but can’t decide on a fund like SCHD or one of the ones you mentioned here. What about VTV though? You didn’t mention that one.

As mentioned, RPV is my choice for US large cap value.
@Wbrundog Жыл бұрын
@@OptimizedPortfolio high expense ratio. I just like SCHD better I guess.

I’ve been looking into RZV. It seems to have better loadings except for HML than AVUV? Have you looked into this at all?
@OptimizedPortfolio Жыл бұрын
A decent choice but don't overlook its considerably greater negative loading on Momentum. That's the trade-off.
@bendy230 Жыл бұрын
@@OptimizedPortfolio ah I see. Didnt notice that. What about (also invesco) XSVM?
@bendy230 Жыл бұрын
@@OptimizedPortfolio ahh nevermind. Looks like not nearly as good of an HML loading compared to AVUV. Im still kindve interested in possibly allocating something like 10% into one of these momentum type funds? Idk. Not a lot of info out there it seems

Thoughts on MBOT? They just had 100% success on their robotic surgeries on animals and now will be moving on to human trials. Also just did 3 offerings so their balance sheet is stacked. Would love for you to do a vid on them if you could! Could be the next AMD for us!
