Oh my gosh... I am not sure how I ran across you but you are a lifesaver! I am on my fifth year of teaching and 50yo. Thank you so much... this has been a lifeline for sure!

In the school I work in, we are using Zoom for online sessions with students and Google Classroom for assignments, quizes and homework. I also upload recorded lessons on KZbin, for my students who couldn't attend the online session. I miss having personal interactions with my students but as long as they are safe, I am happy.

I would love to see a google classroom lesson from the teacher's perspective of creating the lesson, the student's perspective of completing the lesson, and back to the teacher's perspective for grading the lesson. It is difficult to know what type of lessons to post when we are not sure what students see or how they will complete it so we can grade and return it.

Hi Michelle, I love your tutorials they are so user friendly and easy to follow. Where I live we found out 15 mins before school finished that the whole country would be moving into a Level 4 Lock-down for 4 weeks. Myself along with my colleagues really got caught off guard. We have just been told that we are to now deliver online digital learning for another 4 weeks. I was just starting to understand Google Classroom when the above happened. So finding your tutorials online has been a lifesaver and I get so excited after listening to you loving this different teaching platform being of an earlier generation. I listen repeatedly to your tutorials always learning something new the next time. So thank you :)

Not only do I LOVE your videos because of your personality... you made me rethink my whole teaching with your videos about Google-Classroom, Organizing Google Drive and Online Tools. I was never much into technology, but I must say, when the new schoolyear starts here in Germany in September... I will SO be prepared for a new approach to teaching. :-D Just wanted to say, THANK YOU SO MUCH! This is going to sound dumb. But, Powerpoint has a screen recording widget. It's under insert>screen recording then select the area of your screen you'd like to record and start recording. Then when you're done your video will appear on one of the slides, then you right-click and hit "save media as." Boom you have a screen recording with audio.

Watching your tutorials has been extremely beneficial during this trying time. I teach second grade, and my sister teaches fourth grade, and our school system is recommending Google Classroom! We are pretty much on our own to figure it out! When our colleagues ask us how we are learning, we tell them our friend, Michelle, is helping us, and then we send them your way! 🙂Thank you for showing how to make a Google Slide for students to type on! Even more so, we appreciate your time as we know you are going through the same situation plus creating videos! Your guidance has been invaluable! You deserve a raise! Lucky students to have such an amazing teacher! Thank you!

zoom also has a break out feature where you can put them in groups and they can break out into different rooms and the host can go in and out of those rooms to see what the people in those groups are doing. The people in those groups can also ask the host a question and ask the host to come into the room for help. And then the host can have the people come back into the original room after the break out groups are done. Really cool

I'm pretty good when it comes to the technology stuff. I love teaching which involves IT but because of the situation I feel so overwhelmed that I can't concetrate enough and I end up asking myself the same questions over and over: Will my students be able to do it? Will it work on their computers? How many issues are they going to have with the app? Am I going to end up burried under the pile of questions from students and parents? etc. I've never been so stressed out in my life and what is worse I used to love working with these tools and now I'm starting to hate it.

One thing I wanted to mention with ZOOM if a student, teacher, or para is using a chrome book they will not be able to use the white board feature on zoom. They can still use the shared screen option though. Our students like to share their Prodigy games with each other to see what levels they are on, or gems and pets they have earned.

Hi Michelle! Thanks for the video! While I have been teaching for ages, I know so little about this type of technology. I am having to learn everything so quickly! Would it be possible for you to do a video on how to produce a quality teaching video? What tips and tricks can you share for lighting, camera, audio, distance... and just the strategies some teachers might not know about filming just a "talking to you" video. I will need to film myself teaching from a white board, using manipulatives, showing science experiments too--but, for starters, I can't even get a quality sit-and-listen video! I would love (and appreciate!) anything you could share to make this a little easier. Thank you for all I have learned from you over the past four years!

This version would be best a slow speed and with walk throughs of 2 or so assignment styles and what is needed for basic set up? 2. Do you have recommendations of how to lay out a "day plan" or a "week plan" for teachers to follow? i.e. post 10 minute lesson at 9 am every morning with a morning message and question, 10 am 10 minute Math lesson on google meet.

OBS Studio is an excellent screen recording tool used by a lot of KZbin gamers. It has a lot of options for versatility but you don't need to dig into them to use it as a basic recorder. When you do use them you can put yourself on webcam in the corner of the recording, record multiple audio streams and a whole lot more really easily. And it's free and open source. My only link to the project is that I love using it.

I'm using zoom for teaching high school. Google meet is easy but it hard to control a lot of students. zoom gives you a more structured environment. I have to try to flip a lot my friend's teacher says is good. I'm using also google classroom for resources and assignments. Your videos are right on the target. You also right depends on the school is how we are teaching remotely. Thank you. I like your videos.

I just love watching your videos and continuing to grow with my technology skills. I teach kindergarten and I am trying to wrap my brain around all of this and how it should look. I spent my Saturday night watching your google classroom tutorial learning LOTS. I don't know what I would do without google classroom now. It has been such a wonderful tool to use with my families during this time. If I could ask a huge favor of you...would you please share some ideas of what all of this could look like in kindergarten? It is kind of challenging when parents are ultimately in control of my students resources...but I would love some FUN ideas. Thank you for sharing your expertise. I am drawn into every video I have watched and I learn so much. Thank you!

Thank you for sharing your tips for distance learning. I found them very helpful and looking forward to using many of them. I also teach in Maryland, so this is great that our district supports most of your different application.
