I loved We Are it was just so light hearted. I usually don't drop series, but I watch a lot of them while skipping through many parts. Battle of the Writers was almost worth of completely dropping..

You are so.right about" bad guy my boss". When I started watching it I actually thought it was a Thai bl series of "What's wrong with secretary Kim" due to the whole work setting and quitting lines. I was kinda disappointed when they didn't tow that line, but I finished watching it all the same. It's really not on par with other great series...but it's something you might want to watch if you have nothing else to watch.

Bad guy my boss was so bad that I couldn’t look away. It was a hotmess. As for kidnapp the series Leng had a facial expression I just couldn’t get over. It drove me up the wall.

I toggled with dropping Kidnap during the second half of its airing because the plot kind of forgot about itself for a while and concluded far quicker than it needed to. However, the reason I stayed was because of the chemistry between Ohm and Leng. Choco Pie and kisses are my identifier of this show and I will gladly say staying for those interactions was the true spectacle. (I also stayed so I could watch Leng as an actor, and I was happily surprised in a good number of scenes.) I look forward to their future projects and only hope they have a better story to aid their stellar vibes with one another.

We are is so much more than just a light hearted story. I was not anticipating this series at all, I just gave it a chance because of PondPhuwin but I got hooked. I don’t consider myself as the target audience of school-based, slice of life, nothing extra storylines (like I’m not a big fan of perfect 10 liners either) but this was different and I really want to spread the word to people who doesn’t like this kind of series to give it a chance. The directing and the production is one of the best of GMMTV.

I feel like We Are was tailored to please the fans that were in it for the pairings there rather than the story. Personally, after 3 or 4 episodes, I was skimming through everything just to find any bits with Poon & Marc. (And they barely got screentime!) As for everything else on this list, I either dropped it or didn't even know it existed (like that Eccentric Romance).

Love Sea was actually really good for me. I am a FortPeat stan so i might be biased. For me the cinematography was something that just kept me so immersed and so was the acting. The plot was kind of a mess but i loved the story nonetheless. I feel like the ending was better than the beginning... I suffered through We Are for MarcPoom only and i will admit that that i was skipping over everyone else but them... And for me i dropped My Stand In... controversial but it was way too toxic for me.. i dropped it after it became clear that Poom would go back to Up's character and back into that relationship. I just couldn't stand it

Mame needs therapy. I can't do another show where childhood trauma is the main point for character development, and I am not interested in the weird entanglement of love and violence. I didn't like the ending to Love Sea because I didn't like that Rak traded one violent man (his father) for another (Mut). I would love to see a series where FortPeat have a wholesome, healthy relationship without any weird dubcon, power dynamic, or childhood trauma and they, like, go on an adventure together.

​@@yourfriendlyneighborhoodsim We see him fend off multiple of Rak's dad's men, and it is clear it is not his first fight. Can we call that justified? Sure. The other dudes started it. Then, we see him attack Rak's dad. And was Rak's dad a terrible, awful person? Absolutely. But Mut escalated it to physical violence. Rak's dad was just standing there yelling. Rak is terrified of his dad because he is violent- particularly towards his mother and Mut and Rak have a similar power dynamic as their relationship. Why would Mut want to show any of the same behavior as Rak's dad? Someone with Rak's trauma- wouldn't you start sleeping with one eye open waiting for Mut to turn on you? It is like if in LITA Sky fell for a human trafficker. Not someone who kidnaps Sky and sells him to be a sex slave though. Just other people.

@ idk… I feel like you are doing a lot of assuming 😅 Mut being violent isn’t a part of his character profile at all, he’s just randomly good at fighting. Maybe it was a necessary skill he learned growing up? Maybe he was bullied a lot because of his father? Maybe he just has plot armor? 😂 And yeah, maybe he didn’t HAVE to be violent with Rak’s dad, but it showed Rak that his father didn’t have much power over him. Could that been achieved by months of therapy? Maybe. But they didn’t have time for that, he was threatening them and their family. Also I don’t see the parellels between Mut and Rak’s father… can you explain that more? They don’t have the same background as far as we know…

I watched Addicted Heroin Thai 2024 through Episode 7; Kidnap through Episode 9; Love Sick 2024 through Episode 10; Bad Guy My Boss through episode 2; and I also gave up on Cherry Magic Thai, but I don't remember at what episode I gave up. It's too bad. I really like Ohm Pawat, Tay Tawan and New Thitipoom. I also really liked the original Addicted Heroin, Love Sick and Cherry Magic. But when I start falling asleep due to boredom, then it is time to give up on watching a series.

As a PondPhuwin fan, I think they should stop being a paired as a couple and just do bromance. They have chemistry just not a romantic one. Plus, I don’t think Phuwin will ever be comfortable enough to kiss another man onscreen.

I am proud to say I finished Love Sea and thats bec I truly love FortPeat so much ❤❤ We Are is a snooze fest. Win and Satang are the only salvation for me that I actually abused the skip button just to get to their scenes. There is no denying Pond and Phuwin are a gorgeous couple but they are not doing anything for me and that actually hurts 😭😭 I agree with Kidnap. I got to epi 5 and then dropped it but I might get back to it again bec Ohm and bec I want to support Leng. I hope Only Friends S2 will spark my heart to love them more as a pair. 😊

Eccentric Love was low budget bad. Bad Guy My Boss was just very cringe. I believe the lead actors might be good irl bu they had no chemistry, the love scenes were just too cringe. The storytelling was very bad. The only thing that was mildly good was the Fei Long/Run and just the final part.

I personally loved We Are, but I know some people didn't. I think what it comes to about We Are is if you like more plot driven series or more character driven series. If you like series with plots and don't care as much about the characters We Are is not going to be the series for you. I feel like it's more of a slice of life series. I don't think there was one plot that was being followed. It was just following the life of this friend group and these couples. I loved We Are because of the characters and the chemistry between not only the couples but the friend group as a whole. There were so many funny moments and watching the show just always made me smile. The chemistry between all of the actors was so good that it was like watching an actual group of friends and not a bunch of actors playing characters.

I tend to give any new series I'm interested in 1-2 episodes but tend to drop most of them. The dramas I dropped after a few episodes would be - 1) Jack and Joker - I just got bored after the first few episodes 2) 4Minutes - I legit dropped this half way through the last episode after seeing what happened with Tonkla. I just completely lost interest there and then (if they expand on his story in 8Hours I will give it a second look however. I wasn't expecting a happy outcome for him but I was very invested in his story and was disappointed we didn't see more of it. The drama really needed more than eight episodes...) 3) Doku Koi - absolutely cute and hilarious at the start. The pairing was great, the talking succulents were adorkable, the plot was somewhat simple but hey it worked for Laws of Attraction and I assumed it would work again here...I just couldn't keep focused in the second half) Honestly though I haven't finished many BLs this year. 2025 however looks amazing.

I enjoyed We Are a lot, but thats mostly because I just enjoy the acting and visuals of Phuwin and Pond ^^ same with Kidnap, I basically finished it to see Ohm's acting that I love~ The rest of your list is very similar to mine, although some of them I didn't even start :/ I expected more from gmmtv productions but well let's see what the new year brings beside an exciting new Gun role I'm looking forward to seeing :3

FINALLY A Jack and Joker mention That woahahhrhfhhrhsis made me angry how ridiculously badly written it is the heists only works out because the targets are brain deaaaad Legendary thief my assss. Gemini Norawit looked bored out of his skull throughout the entire series. I barely made it to Episode 4. I like both Gemini and Fourth Nattawat, but the storyline was so silly that I gave up before I completed even half of the series.

Thanks for making this video! I'm about to watch some of the listed BL series, but I'm second-guessing whether I should watch them. It's great that you initiated discussions about it. I'm a huge fan of BLs, and my expectations have grown. Now, having the same setting or plot feels boring. Some productions nowadays prioritize quantity over quality. Instead of featuring a large cast, remaking a popular series, or sticking to the same setting (like high school), they should focus on originality. For example, "Last Twilight," "My Stand-In," "4 Minutes," and "Love in the Big City" are great choices in my humble opinion. I hope we have more interesting BLs next year. 😊

I dropped My love mixed up (didn't do any justice to GF acting skills), and My Stand in (too toxic). I also dropped Not me, even though it wasn't produced this year (just didn't like it). I did watch all final episodes, though. Now, the plot in Kidnap was never in the room with us. But I really liked the chemistry between Ohm and Leng, so I continued watching. The script was crap, for sure. Most scenes were filmed when Ohm had short hair, and others were obviously introduced afterwards, maybe as fillers, when his hair was longer. It was too obvious.

My Love MixUp was my least favourite show of GemForth but the second couple were awesome, Mudmee was the MVP. I would say second half of the series was a bit average in execution but it was fun

It's a shame they ended up just making the couples stories very separate (just being seen together here and there). I like that about the jp version, the friendships were very fleshed out. They definitely lost sight of the original's story just going for core scenes They totally wasted Aida's character but I do love Pahn's Mudmee Also Kongthap being so overly perfect with hardly any emotional turmoil irks me The acting was okay by everyone but overall I do think MLMU was very mid Except for the OST. The OSTs were great, all of them, for me. I'm still waiting for them to cover Possible by Lula (I think was the name?) officially so I can listen to a clean ver. Lol

I dropped We Are, Love Sea, and Jack and Joker, My Love Mix Up, and Love in the Air, Japan. Only because I am a fan of Yin and War, I may give Jack and Joker another chance,but it doesn’t call to me. For me, it was all over the place. I couldn’t tell if it was a crime story, a comedy, or what, but it didn’t feel like a BL. The scenes meant to be funny were cringe to me, sprinkled within serious scenes and no development of main lead relationship. We Are was crazy boring to me. I love Fort and Peat, but intimate scenes are not reason I watch BL. Love Sea lacked good storytelling.

@ Yin and War are a favorite pairing for me. I wanted to support them in this their baby, but Jack and Joker, in my opinion, tried to be everything and ended up being nothing for me. Was it trying to be a BL, a thriller, a drama, a comedy? I don’t know. The story became ridiculous and I just couldn’t handle it anymore.

respect opinions and preferences but just for anyone reading the comments like me to decide what to watch next: I loved Jack and joker. For me it's the best bl I've seen in years. If I were writing it I would make one or two small changes to the story, so I see what you all are saying, there, but the story was still very good and I think one of the best in the genre. I usually skip at least a little of each episode in thai BLs because the writing in a lot of them aren't great (although they are improving as a whole and have been for a couple of years) and I get bored, but I barely skipped through anything in this series. Theres a lot of great humour in the script that the actors pull off beautifully. The acting was incredible as always for yinwar, but you can tell this is a passion project because they outdid themselves. The rest of the cast was also great; I wouldn't say that there was a weak performance in the series even from child actors. The fight choreo is unreal, so good. It's a slow burn for their romance with a lot of obstacles, so I get what was said in this thread about bromance, but I promise that it's a great romance just a slow burn. (Possible spoilers but no major plot spoilers, just giving people an idea of timeline and tips to enjoy the series) None of the potential side couples make things clear or kiss, so dont get your hope's up and just enjoy their chemistry for what it is, which is still pretty great. Yinwar dont kiss/really make any kind of feelings clear until the very end of episode 9, so that's how slow the burn is it is, but it's very satisfying when it happens. Flirtation and signs of romantic feelings happen before that, including great chemistry from their first meeting, but for plot reasons it's slow to build over the first several episodes then has to stop for a while before ramping back up again. I watched the uncut version so maybe the complaints about the story are because people are watching the cut version? Some uncut episodes are like up to 20 minutes longer than cut episodes. I haven't seen the cut version but I can fell you that none of the uncut version felt like filler, so you're probably missing a lot of story with the cut version. Watch the uncut version, especially for episode 10. Uncut is only like 5 minutes longer for ep 10 but it's an important 5 minutes; if you get to the opening credits without understanding what I mean, you're watching the wrong version. Theres a lot of backstory in the beginning episode (which I still enjoyed a lot but is pretty different from the rest of the series) so the advice I'd offer if you're struggling to get into it is to give it a chance at least until yin and war have met up again in the present a few times because their chemistry in the first several times that they meet set up a lot of different aspects of their future relationship dynamic: discomfort, enemies (to lovers), mistrust, mutual respect (that builds to trust), flirtatious banter and attraction despite very complex emotions and factors impacting their relationship. One of those dynamics will probably draw you in and you can enjoy seeing how those aspects blend and build a great relationship. You may fine some of Yin's character's actions irritating, I know I did, but remember that he as a character doesnt know everything that we do as the audience, to the point that Yin tried to only read the parts of the script that his character would actually know about before acting in scenes and he didnt fully know how much better some people's intentions were than what they seemed to his character until he watched the finished series (not an exact quote, I dont remember where I saw the interview). I think that the only unsatisfying thing about the series for me had nothing to do with the romance at all, it was just that I wanted to see more justice/revenge/consequences for the people that I see as the true villains of the series rather than a vibe of "this is how the world works and we just do our best to make it better." That said, this is more realistic even if it might not be as satisfying, and the show comments on things like poverty better than any bl I've seen before. This bl also does a better job than I've ever seen in a bl of writing complex characters and villains who actually have reasons behind their actions. This is a long comment so the TLDR is: please give Jack and joker a chance, it's my favourite in terms of story, acting, scene choreography, and romance. Also lighting and makeup; War's skin is glowing and his cheekbones are so artfully highlighted in every scene that I almost want to buy the skincare advertised in the series. The costumes were great too, and set design. It's seriously so good, please watch it.

Like 4Minutes, My Stand-In (I only finished these two BLs this year) and now I'm looking forward to My Golden Blood and The Most Beautiful Count for next year.

I stopped “Lovesick.” After two strong episodes, the protagonists became too passive for me. Also, there were so many secondary couples that I was completely confused. I did finish watching “Bad Guy My Boss” and “Kidnap”. But only because otherwise I wouldn't have been able to get the series out of my head. In "Bad Guy My Boss" I liked the setting and a supporting couple - nothing else. Unfortunately, the main actors didn't have good chemistry. With "Kidnap" I had to force myself to keep watching from episode 6 onwards. The reason: There was a lack of consistent tension. The second half of the series was significantly worse than the first. Conflicts were repeatedly introduced within an episode and immediately resolved again. It seemed to me as if the series had been artificially extended in retrospect.

Kidnap the series just didn't made me curious. I started after the 4th ep aired and waited for the rest to finish then skimmed through it. Though it had a good plot it was very predictable. And I felt the main couple was so under pressure to bring out their Chemistry for satisfying fans, If they didn't felt that pressured they could've delivered much better. It is evident from their cute moments together. Otherwise the love and chemi was conveyed through their dialogues and not through nuances of micro acting

I am not a fan of Fourth and Gemini with one exception and that was their supporting role in "Moonlight Chicken" where they were superb. I have slight OCD and am a bit of a completionist so I watch BLs for the sake of them being BLs; bad or good. As such I watch a BL watchlist over 60 pages long (~30/page) with dramas, short films, mini series and movies from Thailand, China, Japan, S. Korea, Taiwan, Philippines, Vietnam and even Cambodia and Myanmar (if i can find them). Though I've only finished half the list (I only started last year and they add so many each year) that's still over 850 BLs and yet I've DNF'd one. Kare ga Boku ni Koishita Wake 2 (The reason why he fell in love with me season 2). It was SO SLOW and preachy; I fell asleep four times trying to watch the "big" confrontation scene. I gave up when I stood up to watch it and STILL fell asleep (while STANDING) the fourth time.

I will admit, the first 2 episodes of Love Sea are hard to get through. But once you do it does get a little better. While writing wise it’s not the greatest story but Fort and Peat are amazing. And their chemistry has really developed. Plus, Chanya and Aya are very underrated. I want a better series for all 4.

I didn't get the story, I felt it boring; on top of that, there was that GL couple that I was not looking for, and they didn't get me. If this is a BL, then I don't want to see the main couple sharing the series with a main GL couple. Not for me.

BL has a tendency to ship a lot of the same actors and couples that are popular to new series. It seems the actors will bring the same character to another new series because of their lack of acting ability, you become bored with new series because it doesn't feel like a different new series. Casting needs to improve. I have started watch the more mature series and plots. Thx for your channel.👍

We Are was okay with it. I watched and enjoyed it. I watched Kidnap and My Love Mixed-Up just because of my favorite boys, Ohm and GeminiFourth. I immediately dropped: • Bad Guy My Boy • Love Sea (I can’t stand the couple, sorry) • Love Sick • Battle of the Writers • Your Sky (For me, Mandee is not doing a good job. We need better stories. Their stories are always the same-the charming top and the very innocent, dumb bottom.) • Monster Next Door • Forever You (Sorry, but high school series are kind of boring. We’ve seen so many of them.) • This Love Doesn’t Have Long Beans (I didn’t feel the chemistry of the ML.) • I Saw You in My Dream • Time • Sugar Dog Life • Sunset Vibes I watched the following with skipping: • Hidden Moon • My Damn Business • Eccentric Romance • Kidnap • My Love Mixed-Up • Addicted Heroin • First Note of Love • Summer Night This year, Thailand didn’t have any special stories for me. Love Sea was solely rested upon the chemistry and glamour of the main couple. If it was a 4ep series it would've better coz the plot was not their at all. And all those fillers with a forced GL story😢 I want to see FortPeat in a more realistic mystery action thrillers..like a journalist and a detective. All those sassiness are being misused

I did like We Are 😊 Love Sea was good. But I preferred them in Love in the air 😊 Didn't like Kidnap at all. Just couldn't get into the story or any of it. Bad Guy My Boss was good. But the storyline in places could have been used better. Maybe the next series they do might be stronger 😊😊 For me, overall, bad was Live in love. I watched it till episode four. I like to give a series a chance but for me was just awful 😖

Bad Guy was pretty poor. I had to let it go about half way through. We Are was so very juvenile. A lot of the cast either deserve better or extra acting lessons - you decide who is in which category! Kidnap was a bit of a disappointment despite Ohm's presence. Didn't mind Eccentric but it wasn't one to watch again. Mix-up was a mess and they guys simply shouldn't have taken that one on. Love Sea was a mix of good camerawork and often weak script. Peat and Fort deserved better. Didn't see Blue Boys
