Very helpful video! Another lesson learned could be which card to use for booking flights on points (i.e., paying the fees with certain cards to get insurance coverage for a point redemption flight). Also, taking one-way flights versus return flights can sometimes maximize your points.

I do the same, everything is in my high functioning ADHD brain! We have a high monthly spend so it's highly unlikely we will miss a SUB! So far my brain only causes me to miss power and gas payments, nothing to hurt my credit. And when I miss it's normally a week but nothing more.

Don’t agree on “earn and burn” because none of these programs should dictate your life or travel plans. The “community” is full of aspirational travelers. Better rule. You rule the points. The points don’t rule you. If it costs you a couple hundred bucks, so be it.

@@PrinceofTravel I've briefly used an award flight tool and I think once we get this duplex build out of the way (Looking to put almost the entirety of that $350k USD build on some new CCs for points accumulation) then wife and I may start travelling more with the kiddo. I never knew about hotel award tools so I'm definitely checking out Awayz. I'm interested in some award search tooling. Had ExpertFlyer but the interface and search modus felt quite antiquated where I have to do specific routes, date-by-date, which is just crazy. Calendars...they need calendars. Hey Ricky - your channel is awesome!! I took your advice from about a year ago ‘Get these RBC Avion cards and forget the rest’. I only have the RBC Infinite card now, plus a backup no-fee MC. Yes the RBC isn’t the best earner (by far), but it’s free for me, the points never expire and I just use it for hotels. I fanatically look for cheap business class fares - I’m likely not maximizing the points - but I’m simplifying my life:)
@PrinceofTravel6 ай бұрын
Keeping things simple is an achievement itself. RBC Avion is a very decent card. Especially when it's free for you. Keep up the good work!

@PrinceofTravel4 ай бұрын
Lounge access do you mean hotel lounges? or Airlines lounges? Either case, such access is usually a benefit of premium cards. The normal bonvoy cards in Amex Canada already provide one free night certificate per year to offset the annual fee.

Great secrets, please making videos of anything that enhances our ability to earn and redeem points. Question, does anyone know how long does neo financial take to award the extra. 15 K bonus points they offered when they first launched the Cathay card after the spent required has been met. I've tried to find this and there's no answer to be found. Please come up with update about that credit card and points program when you have a chance.
@PrinceofTravel5 ай бұрын
Hi Daniel. Neo actually awards the points only after the full bonus period, so you should expect the points about 1 week after your 3rd statement, assuming you've completed the spending requirement. Mine was dated one day after my statement, but I recall it taking closer to 4-7 days to actually show up after my 3rd statement.

Thanks for this Ricky! Can you create a video recommending which credit card to spend for which activity WHEN TRAVELLING to continue to maximise points collection and minimize expenses (foreign transaction fees). For example: Amex Cobalt gives 5X points for food/drinks but there is also a fx fee. So is Amex Cobalt still the best card when traveling for food/drinks? Which card is best to use for transportation? excursions? accommodation booking? This video idea will be a game changer for digital nomads!!!
@PrinceofTravel6 ай бұрын
if you can use cobalt card for overseas F&B and grocery, then it's still the best card to use. 5x points = 5% at least, so that covers the 2.5% fx fee. For general travel, the 2x isnt too bad either and it covers pretty much everything you mentioned. So stick with the Cobalt whenever you can. If amex isnt accepted, just use the Scotiabank Passport VI. This is one of my favorite 2 cards combos
