A big reason matchmaking is so slow is because of the huge time difference. If you're playing it in the daytime in the US, that's the night time for people in China. Considering that Chinese parents are already very strict with their kids playing games, there's a low likelihood there will be many kids playing in the middle of the night. I just wanted to say this because I live in China right now and so I have to play the Chinese brawl stars and have no problem matchmaking there. I've been playing Chinese brawl stars since it's release there in 2020 and I haven't had any problems. Except for the brawl pass costing real money instead of gems but I guess we all have to deal with that.

In Chinese version, all of the matches you play before you reach 100 trophies consists of bots and no real players. That's why those dudes constantly stop moving--making it seem like delay--and do not use any emojis except for the default ones. Also, when you lose consecutively for 3-4 matches in higher trophy levels, the next match you play, the enemy team will also consist of bots only. This prevents a player from dropping trophies non-stop.

As a Chinese person who plays Chinese brawl stars all day, Tencent literally ruins all the fun because literally everything is p2w, and IT’S A WHOLE FCKING SEASON BEHIND NON CHINESE BRAWL STARS. Duo showdown is completely unplayable below 500 if you don’t have a teammate because 99% people there are mastery farmers. However there are a few f2p friendly events including giving out free skins like popcorn Rico, serenade poco, and the pink dragon primo skin (I have no idea what it’s called in English), but overall Chinese brawl stars is just so much worse than normal brawl stars.

I used to play international brawl stars, and I can say that the 800 to 850 trophy range in Chinese brawl stars is equivalent to 1000+ international brawl stars cuz the Chinese players are SO SWEATY
