Thanks for a peek into daily life of a dev. It's something most of an audience can't appreciate, because it won't ordinarily cross their minds. I like how your incorporate physical activity into your routine, it's really important and many devs don't even do it. It keeps your brain functioning properly and it is something all devers should be cognizant of. And you don't even need to do that much of it to derive a lot of benefit.
@toomuchtomato

I loved how you shined light on all the physical activities and breaks throughout the week. I've found running and rock climbing to be ESSENTIAL in keeping my mood and body feeling right during the workweek. Super important when doing something as potentially isolating and sedentary as working on solo indie projects! Thanks for the video!

I have some thoughts on the main character's hair that I'd like to share. Currently, the hairstyle seems to cause the character to fail the silhouette test, as it rounds out the entire body, leading to a less distinct shape. This effect detracts from the character's uniqueness and could impact the player's connection to the character. Additionally, with the hair covering one eye, it obscures some essential facial features. As humans, we often seek to see people's faces to connect with them, and this connection can be vital in a gaming context. It's a subtle point, but it can make a big difference in how players perceive and relate to the character. My suggestion would be to consider adjusting the hairstyle to enhance the character's appearance. Options could include pushing the hair behind the ears, putting it in a braid, or even opting for a completely bald look. I believe that allowing players to see the main character's full face would strengthen their engagement with the game and its story. Your efforts in developing this game are genuinely appreciated, and I hope my feedback is helpful. I'm looking forward to seeing how the character evolves!

Holy cow! The editing of this video is superb! Can definitely tell you put a lot of work into it. I really love these style of videos every once in a while since it gives us a peek at the person behind the game. And on the game dev side, Blood and Mead is really coming together! I'll be honest, when I first came across you, I watched the videos largely because I liked the grounded nature you presented game dev and the advice given. Blood and Mead was something I thought sounded neat but wasn't that interested in, but now it's really looking great! Cannot wait to try it out when it comes out, man!

I'm always shocked at how fluent and polished your animations and effects come out. Amazing work! (btw , from a game design point of view , you could make it so that you can collect an upgrade chest once enemies are not around. this way you could collect them without being attacked , and you wouldn't need this some-freeze-some-not mechanic) *alternatively , offer them in safe locations only*
@LostRelicGames
@LostRelicGames Жыл бұрын
Hey thanks, took me a while to learn how to make them look better! (Pro animators would scoff I'm sure). Yeah there will be sections where the chests materialise after clearing a horde too, but I wanted to make sure the flexibility is there for all situations. Thanks for the comment!

I personally believe that 'bug' in terms of developing is the most perfectly named term in the world. They can be big or small, annoying, destructive, and even if you squash 100 of them there are potentially a million more hiding somewhere in the structure. Also, I think the UI you have at the end looks really good. The animations look clean and there's not so much going on that you have to question what you should look at so very nice 👍

I both really like this games look and think to my self I would never play a game like this naturally because of the looks. I think the reason for this isn't necessarily the art but the color pallet. At 3:38 in the video is when I finally realized why I felt this way. By looking at the difference between the promotional banner and the game itself. The colours are so muted in the game it almost gives off a cheap feeling. Personally I will buy this and play it no matter what because I have been watching these dev logs for a while now but I think spending some time on the colour would be very well spent. Just an opinion, good luck with the dev journey!
