Cool builds, would be interesting to make a huge crater in the ground and center of crater you have one of these spike tunnel base builds so assuming a zombie or two survives a fall they have to drag themselves through spikes.

hmmm....a gauntlet funnel, an interesting idea! I've tried these with some success. do you use doors as a "lure?" or barbed wire as movement impedence?

This one was just for fun. Nothing I would use late game. I just stood on top while fighting the horde. Too much maintenance for me. I did this as more of a preview for the new spike features on A15. I prefer the free fall pit now that free fall damage has been enabled. Many different ways you can use the spikes now with your builds.

Hi Spartan, I don't understand how you make a 2 wide base (for the inner circle) , we can see that you got 2 rows of spike on the bottom and a roof of 3 1/4 blocks on top ... i think i missed something in your schematic :)

I loved your Alpha 14 Bunker-Desgin´s and i like your first Free Fall Base Design. It´s very simple but effective as hell. This Design - sorry - i don´t like very much except the spike- tunnel idea. The reason is, i dont see how you fight the horde-nights. Constantly repair the spikes and do nothing else? Shooting through the little space between the spikes? And how do you remove the corps? I loved your other designs because you fulfill my important points to a good base: 1. Loot every Zombie 2. Clear all Zombies after a Bloodmoon 3. Kill Zombies by myself and not by a wall of 1000spikes like most of the other players. Dont you think it will work with a Pillar Pit inside?

Yeah, I mentioned that in the video and text below it. It is very high maintenance and not like any of the other bases I have created. This was more for fun and to make a base using the new log spike feature. It looks cool, but I myself prefer something simple like the free fall design. The next base defense video will fall in line with others I have created before.

I need to jump onto my game and see if I can place spikes onto walls and roof, at this stage I don't think I can. Also, I didn't know you could plant yucca plants. Playing on PS4.

They just updated for X box 1 a few days ago to where you can actually put them on the walls and ceilings so maybe they can on PS4 now too Bur I'm not sure if it's just for x box right now. dunno if you've checked in the last 24 hours or so but maybe they have!

I wish I had more time to share that with you all. Unfortunately these bases I present are done in very short windows one section at a time. I may try to get a speed build or two out before the next alpha if possible.

I like this design, however I prefer you're bunker style 9x9 and I have memorized and used that many times and added a twist to what I like. I really like watching the things that you come up with, but I have always wondered this following question. Why do you use scrap iron log spikes vs forged? This design would require a butt ton of forged so I see why you used the scrap iron on this one, however the 9x9 bunkers have very little log spikes. Do the forge do less damage but, have the 10k hit points? Also, I have always used the knife with the decap skill maxed, I see you use the spiked club. The knife I just one shot 3/4 the zombies, would you still prefer the spiked club? Keep up the great tutorials and bases, I really enjoy duplicating them!!!!!!!!!!! -Chad

Thank you for the support! I made this build just to preview the new feature of the log spikes. I didn't have enough steel to upgrade all of these spikes. Also, I knew I would not use this against many hordes as I prefer the free fall design. Very little maintenance. Please feel free to link us pictures or a video of one of your base designs. I have seen no changed with digging straight down. As always, if they have just the slightest bit of uneven turf, they will hit and break it. Everything needs to be smooth such as concrete/wood block around your base.

They seem to get a 45 angle hit something hard and freak. I noticed the earth in 15 is different. Not sure how yet.

I like the look and the idea of the base, but why? Why take away the actual slaughter of zombies? With this, all you're doing is repairs. I didn't even see a section to get some swings in. I like the idea though. I still prefer the drop style base with spikes and the ability to club or shoot.

I agree. This one was just for fun and to build something using the new feature of log spikes. When horde night comes around, I stick to the free fall pit base. I don't like having to repair and maintain bases.

Grand Spartan I love your free fall pit design. I modified it slightly and use it on PS4. I'm only about 15 blocks deep, so usually a few whacks and the zombies are gone. I also setup a tree farm underground and a garden based off your designs. very impressive.

Majdus they deal less damage but having them in this set up means you have more than 1 spike damaging the zombies
