@glock9 Just because a book says you haven't read it is most likely because you don't have the requirements for lets say "Vehicles for Dumbshits 3" If you search the book titles in your skill search bar you can verify if you have read the book as the skill will be unlock but highlighted red. Hope this helps!

I've been playing darkness falls for a while now and I'm pretty sure the white river trader quests progress the storyline and there's no real benefit to going to separate white river traders because the quests overlap. Just go to the special job she gives you

Yep, all the scouts count the same, they all increase your rep with white river. I think when you do 10 white river it increases your rep with all traders by 1.

Put the liquid nitro mod on a shotgun - seems like each pellet has a chance to proc the cold effect... You can slow down a lot of zombies with each shot that way.

The progression has started. Get the oven, and put points into coilgun. You will start getting coil gun loot. When you put points into something you start finding loot in that skill.

Love this series and content. You definitely want to keep all the skill notes from scrapping schematics though. You can craft more Class Books, which opens up more skills. Just try to make Steel without having the right class ... nope! Keep it up ... and thanks for the entertainment!

@@Jdogbites No. It takes 120 for each class (Security, Laborer, Mechanic, etc.). He's gonna need like 740 to complete every class. And, if he goes for a Mastery book, he'll need SIX HUNDRED skill notes to craft a Mastery book (120 for the Blank Class book, and another 480 for the Mastery book).

Another great episode. As everyone else mentioned just keep scrapping those books for skill notes. 120 for class books, 480 + class book for mastery books, and once you have all the classes/masteries you can use 60 to make extra skill point books. Also now that you have the farming tips books you should make a mortar and pestle and 2-3 chicken coops and animal snares and the new beehives, make some apple seeds with the mortar then once they grow use the apple to make animal feed to resupply the coops and snares. great way early game to get lots of food and to get eggs/honey to make the ink you will need.

I think the 4x4 is the way to go, honestly. 1, massive storage. 2, if you get up enough speed, or learn how to "shimmy" the vehicles, you can drive up about the same inclines as a motorcycle. 3, you can drive it off of cliffs and take minimal/no damage. 4, it off-roads where the motorcycle fears to tread: it gives no eff's about cacti and rocks unlike the motorcycle which will send you spinning into California, it can cross wading-level water unlike the motorcycle which may sputter out, and it can still maneuver well on snow. Bonus, the zombie apocalypse has miniaturized the technology so a vehicle can fit in your pocket, so you ride out on the motorcycle and bring the 4x4 with. If you need it, you have it, and you can put the bike on the 4x4 to go back. If not, it takes up 1 slot.

Take everything early game, lead, brass, iron, polymers (these are invaluable), elec parts (even more so), etc. Later on you will be scrabbling to get these resources to make the things you need. Darkness Falls uses all the resources that you find to make stuff, unlike the vanilla game. Loving the playthrough. Legend.

You probably should change the time back to default; lowering horde night time scale will probably mess it up. There are different phases to horde night in darkness falls; it starts with regular zombies, changes to monsters (dogs, demons, ect), and also has phases with demolishers, birds, ect. I havn't looked at the code but it seems like these phases are triggered by hour marks, so I wonder if you might be limiting horde night by having days start at 2:00am.

Glock, you might want to hang onto paper. You need it for re-loading shot-shells and for making skill books. each book takes like 100 sheets of paper.

Look into crafting lockable storage cabinets etc. Just search lockable. They have WAY more inventory space than the boxes.

Glock man you're going to need every piece of yellow paper (skill notes) you can get your hands on, don't sell the books! If you want free skill points, that costs skill notes. If you want to unlock another class, skill notes. A mastery level for a specific class, a TON of skill notes. You got so incredibly lucky to find that mastery level book because that saved you a ton of skill notes right there...if it worked. It may not have worked if you don't have the security class already unlocked, but lets hope it did! But if it did work it's useless until you unlock the class.

Each skill book takes 120 of that paper to craft and the mastery books take 480 to craft. You can also randomly find the mastery books rarely (like you did in this episode) and if you get your reputation up w/ certain traders they'll sell the master books for 100k dukes OR you can spend 10 skill points to unlock them once you finish the class quests (but that's a waste of skill points)

The marauder is the best vehicle. It is fast, it has 72 storage slots and 10,000 hp. It can climb mountains. Would highly reccomend.

You need those yellow paper to make blank class books, so you can unlock other classes. Right now I started the mod, went hunter (meat is on the menu!) and about to hit a crack a book. Likely going laborer for forges/etc.. then survivor or farmer (already gathering materials and raw crops as I go to stock up for the quests)

Old method, may be different now: Put the liquid nitrogen on a firearm. Every junkie and turret weapon nearby along with your firearm can freeze (slow) enemies shot.

not sure what all others have told you yet but incase no one did , some books you need more than one to learn all of the perk or whatever. you need to check the farming perk because i think you can craft a garden hoe and plant a garden now using rain catchers. dig 2 blocks down, place a rain catcher, dig a one block trench placing a rain catcher with 2 block spacing. do that every other row . use the hoe on the dirt in between which im sure you got that part. you will want to attack the grown crops to get more. there is a iron hoe in game now that will give you more per plot also. i think the notes stack to 500 or 1k i forget. you will want 5 forges going at all times really if you can. 2 making bullet tips/cases is good. 2 making cement. rest iron and steel. lots n lots of steel. it wont happen for a while yet but when you start getting the fliers they can eat a roof fairly quick FYI. mainly the succubus . those blue schem papers are to craft mods and it takes a lot of them. there is a "battery" mod that makes the weapon shock the zombies. ohh 2 cans of food with a clay bowl , with water i think, boiled is good to eat. clay bowls in your hotbar R or L click on a tree to get sap. ohh that farming thing may let you craft the "snare" and chicken coop. very handy things. you will need apples. getting some of those fruit trees going is a good idea too in a place where they wont get murdered too lol. good vid

Save ALL skill notes. Scrap those (like sledghamemer) that you KNOW you won't need. Do NOT sell any of them. You need them to get Blank Class books (120 Skill Notes per class) for a total of 720 Skill Notes for all of them. Additionally, you'll want to get Mastery in almost ALL the other classes which requires 600 Skill Notes for each Mastery book (120 for the Class book and ANOTHER 480 to craft the Mastery book. Scrap all books and schematics you know or know you don't need. Also: That liquid Nitrogen mod isn't very good on horde nights. When I used it, it does slow them down, but it also creates a white "freezing cloud" around the entire zombie making it nearly impossible to take head shots, or identify Cops in the back that need to be shot before they blow up. I had to remove it from my AK to fight effectively. It would be really good against roaming hordes, or for those loot rooms like the T4 Working Stiffs POI where ten dozen zombies all come after you at once.

The 'vehicles for DS' book just unlocks an extra tier per book. So the last one you read unlocked the 4x4 I do believe. That's why it showed you had read it after that.

He already had the 4x4 level read. The last book actually opens up the lvl 4 vehicles in the mechanic tree wen he gets it. So you can read VfDS 4 times. Found that out by accident.

I would also recommend that you go into farmer, there are foods that will increase your max wellness. You shouldn't sell the schematics, you the yellow papers to create class books.

You will need as many yellow paper as possible. Also, you might want to start collecting Electrical Parts and Plastic. I recommend harvesting every computer that you see. And Axe'ing all the box stacks you see for plastic.

The skill notes are much more valuable than the money those books are worth, its like 120 per skill spec unlock and each has a mastery tier (like that security mastery you found) thats almost 500 skill notes worth to make.

Yea the schematics and books, sometimes if you are not at the level to unlock it (some skills have level requirements), it will look like you haven't read the book, it's a bit of a glitch, not a super big deal but can be confusing sometimes

@Glock9 you need 120 yellow paper to unlock a single class. I would plan on keeping every bit of yellow paper you can get until you've unlocked every class and every mastery book. (you can spend 10 levels on it, or 480 yellow scrap to unlock the mastery for free via that red book you found)

Watching you learn the pitfalls of DF is funny and as entertaining as watching you play and loot. Nooo don't ever sell books until you have finished making all your class books! Books, paper and dye are important raw resources to progressing in the game. Also, you have like 4 camp fires to get your stuff done since everything take an eternity to make in DF, that applies to every bench or machinery you will come to build, all of them will need time frames like that so you might follow what you did with the campfires and make multiples. Books - from what I can see if you read a book, but don't have the required skill it will have a red check mark but the book will appear as unread. So if you think you have read something, do a quick check to see if it has a red check if it does then you can ignore the unread status. Of course for books like farming tips, dumb S*&^ and such books make sure the category is maxed before scraping. The mastery book was a great find, I am sure many DF players are envious of how early and easy you found it. I would be interesting to see if the Security class Mastery is done before you have even taken the class if you read it already.

You have to take the class and reach level 50 before a mastery book will unlock a mastery. It just gets the red checkmark until then.
