I am loving the latest two series Glock! So much so that I'm going to start my own in the hospital. I'm not the master you are so I'll be starting as an electrician with some skill points in grease monkey and a couple of tools. Maybe a wrench and a hammer. Thank you for the inspiration!!

There's a spear book that gives spear attacks a 25% chance to cause bleed on a regular attack. You can also put serrated mod for bleeding. The biggest advantages of the spear is the range (attack range is like 4 blocks) and armor penetration. They are incredible if you get the entire spear hunter series because you get target penetration and 100% stamina refill on kills. The biggest downside is the power attack is pretty hard on the stamina. Oh, Jawoodle tested it, and Power attacks cause a 5 second delay before your stamina starts to recharge, unlike regular attacks. SO power attacks not only cost more stamina, they slow your stamina recharge.

I feel like they are the best end gam melee weapon. Get all the books and max the perk and you pretty much one shot any zombie that isn't irradiated. Aswell as fulling ur stamina completely after each kill.

Indeed. I just want to correct one thing which is that the attack range on spears is 3 blocks. I only know that from running experiments in creative mode. But definitely, Spears are undervalued quite a bit in the community. Even without completing the book series, putting enough points into the perk will give back enough stamina back on kills to negate the 5 second stamina delay from power attacks.

just remember that power attacks not only use more stamina but also cause a delay in its regeneration. When doing multiple attacks over the hatches it may be best to keep with regular attacks and keep your stamina at good levels.

Very nice episode and very close:-) As in the hospital recommended: The only way to survive the hordes (3rd horde could have demolishers already) is a drop base where they need time to come to you and take bleed damage. You need a bridge while the last 3 blocks in front of your "standing" are small plates where they can walk. The first plate has a pillar on it. So they have always to jump and some drop down. Some will arrive you and take bleed damage but they will also fall. The difficulty is to be high enough (13 blocks) that they don't attack the main pillars. It is also a bit tricky against spider zeds. I have almost the same setting now in the dishong tower and it works great in the snow biome. In both cases it takes them around 25-30 seconds to come back to you.

Spear is great once you learn how to use it, and get it's perk books. Because it can hit through multiple enemies at the same time. At full mastery and perk books. If you can funnel the zeds in a single file, you can hit them all in range, and each kill will net you back 30 stamina. Basically a free horde night. I have a trap door set up in vanilla like your Cabin the wood series. I hit them through the bars with my spear. It works extremely well, with just the spear alone. In an emergency I can always turn on the 6 auto turrets I have.

I would love to see a special zombie called Berserker or something, just a huge lump of mutations, huge arms and tanky as hell. Really strong punch attacks too. Make it so it only spawns in high tier POIs, and only one at the very end where the loot is, like a final boss or something. Would be pretty cool.

Spear is amazing if you get all the books. Kills refill your stamina, pierce damage, etc. With a weighted head mod on your spear they knock down constantly. Super good weapon.

I know! It is one of my favorite melee's now. It has GREAT range, and the perks really help. it does have a wonky hit box that takes a few tries to get used to, but I can handle day 49 horde nights with my lvl 5 Steel spear almost single handedly. Glock has stated he hasn't liked them know that he can't throw them, and he did START this challenge with one, butt then he missed one time and dropped it for the club... 🙄

I think your hatch strategy is okay for normal zoms, but during blood moon you need a rly hard stand. I usually build double bars with plates on top, at least two blocks wide like a table, so i can swing the hammer properly. Zoms cannot crawl trough, and bars because of dogs. If you build stairs in a 90 degree angle 4 or 5 blocks high, maybe from one floor up to the next floor they have to hop up to get to your base - slows them down, and with a two block opening you can throw molotovs down on them. Should make this way easier.

Spear books: 10% more damage, 20% chance to bleed, penetration, durability and i forget the others. Set bonus is stamina on spear kills. Best horde melee weapon imo. Also, now that you have that exposed balcony, time to make some farm plots! Plant that yucca and aloe if you have it. Yucca juice is 1/1 35 hydration and 15% stamina recovery. Aloe to make FA bandages.

Headshots conserve ammo. Regular knife strikes conserve stamina. When not overwhelmed by numbers or speed, I like to power strike once and regular strike after.

Hatches are good for choke points when clearing POIs early playthrough but for horde night you always want a block of your strongest material and more chokepoints. I understand you’re worried about the pathing but that’s why you always test it with some stragglers before horde night.

You going to have to setup a running pole funnel system, this limits how many can get you at a time, and if more that comes they push each other off, and you can setup multiple fall back of this. remember if your 11 blocks or more above them they will rarely go into destroy everything mode when they fall. So you can have a loop de loop of fighting. Cobble horde bases are almost fine even at late game when doing this. its the Demo's that make it need to be concrete/steel later.

When attacking, use regular attacks with spears and knives, as they have next to no knockdown chance. Power attacks cause a 5 sec stamina delay and with small weapons its better to get a ton of small attacks vs only a few power attacks.

Once you get that next forge ahead book for the workbench it might be worth it to use all of your coal and nitrate to make gunpowder for pipe bombs. That should give the most bang for your buck and a chance to handle some of the hordes.

You can put a serrated blade mod on spear for bleeding damage, and spears are good in combo with scaffolding ladder shape because you can stab through them, just a fyi G9. Love your work!

You’re not too far in to start going into spears I think., they’ll probably be more helpful when the zombs breach the hatchs and you have to jump up onto that elevated platform in the stairs because of its reach. Or you can go into knife and spears, knife for hatch’s, spear for ledges. Ultimately it’s your decision, but just throwing out what I think.

Glock, a good horde base setup might be a long ladder in the stair well with the bars over top like you have done in the past. That way you can still use melee and the option for throwable is still there. Not sure how high you'll need to make this or if you would need to knock out a bunch of the steps.

The boomer from Left 4 dead could be a zombie for 7 days to die. Like it only needs one shot to kill and does very low melee damage and has short range puke attack but it constantly vomits on you giving you more and more infection and spawns in a horde too, and if you are in close range and you kill it, it always explodes and stuns you, as well as spreading vomit on you so it’s a constant hazard to be near and has to be dealt with from far away. I guess something like the cop but mixed with the boomer.
