Leaving is always like that, even with a hearing family. I remember going to church with my mom when little, she would always stand in the parking lot talking to the other church ladies for 20-30 min after they ended the coffee service and basically kicked every one out to clean. If the weather was nice they would stand around talking. If it was rainy / snowy they would sit in their cars and talk through the open windows. Was always annoying as a kid who wanted to go home and eat lunch.

HILARIOUS! Knife signing: check. Splash signing: check. Hitting things: all over the place ... the only thing you didn't cover was having a lengthy conversation with your Deaf child while you're prepping the turkey and your hands are covered in raw meat!
@FluffieXStarshine4 жыл бұрын
lol you don't even need to be signing for the splash check. Having a family from Italian roots that talks with their hands you get splashed even if they are just laughing.

I'm only deaf. but I'm quiet.. I tried to ask my dad but he ignored me. I just used my phone mostly. my grandpa was mad at me becauae I used phone. he said I'm rude. I said what.. how am I supposed to listen ? Family wont sign...
@ak56594 жыл бұрын
This happens with hearing families too. If some of the family is from another country, they obviously speak that language. What often happens is that some of the children and grandchildren born in the US learn the language but some don't. Then the people who do speak the language complain the others who don't keep to themselves. Many Deaf hearing things also happen with hearing when there're two hearing languages involved.

I have that issue right now. I'm sick so it's hard to talk, so I'll text my parents if I need something. Mom is usually good about responding and helping, unless she's taking a nap (she's in her 70s). Dad doesn't always have his phone on him so I'll get a response from him like 2 hours later being like oh, did your mum get you that or do you still need help?

I haven’t experienced DST myself but I know it’s a thing with Israeli Deaf people as well, there’s even a specific sign for it
@PandaMonium928274 жыл бұрын
I always wondered.....for hearies its "don't talk with your mouth full". For deafies, do they have a similar thing? Like it's rude to sign while eating?
@cchills59654 жыл бұрын
no
@pinkdaisy304 жыл бұрын
Nope it’s not rude. Us deafies do sign and chat at same time 😊
@Butterflydeafgurl4 жыл бұрын
No it’s not rude when we eat and signing at same time. It’s different for hearing world. It’s rude when they eat and talking at same time. I know it’s odd but yeah. Lucky us deaf people!!
