right, when he moved it an octave higher, it became a chord melody. 1 , 4 as major 7ths, and the rest dominant 7ths or flat 7ths. i didnt see any fingerstyle in the last example.

I think I'm a really good fingerpicking guitarist, but I still watch every single one of these videos because they're entertaining, and there's always a chance to learn something new or from a different perspective. I agree 100% that training your ear is way better than going to a tab site for every single song. I also agree that once you learn fingerstyle, you'll be hooked. I started out playing with a pick about 20 years ago (I'm 35), but moved to fingerpicking around age 20, and I never went back. Great video, as always!

Yeah, there's something really special about fingerstyle, the possibilities are completely endless. Certainly once I'd arranged my first song I was totally hooked. I always thought it was way beyond my abilities.

Like everything else it's just practice. I can't encourage you enough to start making ear training part of your regular practice routine. Do it for just ten minutes a day for a year. It would likely be the best investment you could make in your playing.

Finally found how this works. Thanks man. Tell me 1. the thing you played lastly with 7th chord. Is it possible to play this with suspended, diminished or any other type of chord? 2. I have some knowledge of Nashville number system. If G is the root note, so how can i use 7th chord with this system or any other type of harder chord without major or minor. Really i am stuck with this paradox. I am a KZbin learner. Hope you help me out.
@swaroov92363 жыл бұрын
It's late to answer,but 7th chords are extensions you can add 7th,9th ,13th to maj and min chords...yes it's possible with suspended chords but you can't omit the maj 3rd and min 3rd all the time.. suspended chords are basically omitting the 3rd and acts like power chord
@kwinaois11 ай бұрын
All diminished whether if it is in major/minor scale will have min7(b5) in it. So the 7th note of the root + min 7 + flat 5 = diminished chord. Hope this helps!

1. Chords 2. Melody 3. Just play the root/base of each chord. Work through the whole melody, hum along. 4. Play/Put the base with the melody (how would I find the melody notes?) (Just my mental notes when I rewatch this, I'm just a newbie :D haha)

Just start trying to work things out without using tabs. Start really easy, happy birthday for instance, and see if you can work it out by ear. Then learn the sounds of intervals, then simple chord progressions. Just make ear training part of your daily practice.
