@mattdykes5166 What a bunch of IDIOTS. HOW is this news? Who cares about these idiots that shop at 7-Eleven. That alone shows their mentality. They don't seem like the college students I remember from the past.

Dont businesses have the right to refuse anyone?
@ThatOpalGuy6 ай бұрын
technically they have to be causing a disturbance.
@user-neo716656 ай бұрын
They are not refusing them service. They are limiting the number that can be in the store to a number their (most likely single) employee can keep an eye on at a time. There is nothing illegal about this and stores like this all over the nation do it to stop kids from causing a disturbance and/or stealing in large groups.
@dunhillsupramk36 ай бұрын
@@ThatOpalGuy nope businesses has the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason and some businesses also have this sign up... you can't force a person or business to service someone they don't want to, this is also the reason why police can remove anyone from a store for NO reason (once the manager says you're trespassing the police hits you with a charge)...

People cry just to cry. A gas station near me does something similar because there is a high school across the street. Places don’t want a bunch of kids in backpacks coming in and stealing. Has nothing to do with the color of the people at this school, it has to do with crappy people ruining things for people who can behave and go into public like civilized adults.

Poor baby students, they have to wait to shop at..................7-Eleven of all places. Go to real stores! And btw the people in this video are STUDENTS? None of them look like they could even graduate from high school.

Sounds like the 7-tch 11 is having a "five finger discount" problem with some of the college kids and believe the source is the school. They may or may not have a point, but the sign is not the answer. Catch the ones who do it and prosecute them. Speak with the DA to hold the guilty strictly responsible and inform the dean or president of the school that he is expected to discipline the guilty as well. Stealing booze or snacks is not worth losing a college education.

O remember back in the late 70’s and all though the 80’s. There were signs like this and we didn’t complain about it. But that was during school hrs. Two many come in at once all trying to get in and out. I don’t blame them for the sign. People need not to take it out of something that isn’t.

You do known there are HBCUs that have majority white student population. Since no one was refused service and they really had no way to enforce it, then there is nothing to prosecute. Hopefully this bring about communication between the business and the school, but what I believe is going to happen is people want to forget that this ever happen.

The problem though is the store did not inform the school of the policy and their reason or reasons for said policy backed up with data or evidence. The fact that the store owner took the sign down once the news channel came around is telling. There was a Walmart by the high school that I went to and they told the school why they was banning any high school students from being in walmart during the school day, thus no issue was made of the ban. The near by fast food place did the same thing and the general dollar store did so too. What is going to be telling is how many NSU students are still going to go to the store, as to me if there was racial component to this policy why continue giving the business their money.

@@EyeOfTheWatcher a few bad ppl can pull down a whole race, just ask the jews if they would trust any German in 2024... or would the TSA trust a brown man with a beard (knew one who was a pilot and he NEVER got through TSA without being fully search)... this ain't about race, i'm black and when walking into ANY store is i take off any hats that i might have on OR lift it up so that my face is clearly visible if i have sunglasses i remove them and so far i have not had any watchful eyes on me.. growing up i had classmates that i knew to never step into any business with them so lets not play ignorant and pretend that we don't know why this is happening...

It'll end in business closure just to be politically correct. Obviously the business owner believes he has a shoplifting problem with students. How about the school adopt policy adopt policy that any student caught shoplifting be suspended or expelled?

@@Mikel3564 I came here to see if we have people that will look at the issue with clear mind and not necessary take sides. Ultimately it is hard to determine if this is a case of racism because the owner refuse to explain his reasoning behind his actions. If there is a problem with who he thinks are students, then why did he not just say so. The one man in the video brought up a good point of, how do you actually tell if they are a student or not. Just having NSU apparel does not mean you are student. I think this whole thing could of been avoided if the store owner communicate with the school of what was going on. I know the 7-11 a few miles away in North Carolina has policy that after a certain time only a limited number of people are allowed in the store at the same time and they have guard out front enforcing it. No one cause an issue and everyone is cool about the situation.
