I had my rubber plant inside the house, it was dying slowly. So i took it outside (direct morning sunlight outside) it started growing so fast. Now it is tall . Its still summer here in South Africa so not sure what to do with it in Winter 😮.

Protect from overwintering. Keep indoors beside a south-facing window. Make sure the plant is still receiving a good amount of sunlight. Reduce watering. Water thoroughly when 70% soil feels dry. Best of luck🌷🌱🌷🌱❄️❄️

Simply repot the plant using the potting mix I have shared or using indoor plant soil mix. Water thoroughly. And water again when 50%-60% soil feels dry. Rubber plant likes to dry out between watering. Keep the plant in a bright place (1-2 hours of bright indirect light) for a week to adjust the plant to the new environment. Gradually shift the plant to the brightest place or a place where the plant will receive around 2-3 hours of direct sunlight. You can spray diluted fungicide solution once a week to prevent fungal infestation. Fertilizer in spring with nitrogen-rich fertilizer. Best of luck 🌷🌷🌸

You better take out the plant from the container and check the roots, if the plant has root rot, remove the rotted portions, and wash the roots using a fungicide solution. Hi, I have just bought my first rubber plant. A friend has told me that to encourage it to grow I should re-pot it in a big pot in order to provide plenty of room for the roots, this makes sense to me. What do you think? and do you have any tips on how to encourage growth. Thanks.

Actually, a large-sized pot doesn’t improve the growth of the plant until the plant actually needs a large pot! Choose pots based on the plant's root ball. So you can minimize overwatering issues. Rubber plants are susceptible to overwatering. Better start with an 8-inch pot if the root ball is around 6 inches. And increase the pot size once a year if needed., 🌸☘️☘️

Another important care tip is to NOT use any tap water on these plants. I’ve had two of them and they both lost all of their leaves very quickly, browning almost immediately 😢. I just purchased my third one and have had it for a month and a half now using only distilled water and she is standing strong, beautiful, and healthy 💪🏽🪴🫶🏽

Summer is the growing period for the rubber plants. So after tip pruning, the plant needs a good amount of light exposure to sprout out. Try to keep the plant in the brightest place you have if the plant is not receiving enough sun. Use nitrogen-rich fertilizers such as fish emulsion, fish meal, and cow manure to encourage new growth. 🌷🌷🌱🌱

Provide more sun if your plant is in a dark place. It is considered as an indoor plant or low-light plant, but Ficuses need at least 2-3 hours of direct sunlight or 4-5 hours of bright indirect light for proper growth. 🌱😊😊🌷🌷
