I like to add a little more protection and instead of penny sleeves I put them in Deck Guards they aren't as flimsy and they slide right into the binder pages nice and neat but that's just me either way works. Awesome video man also another thing any collectors need is to subscribe to channels like yours and mine lol

That’s a great idea…I can picture the feeling of sliding them in with Deck Guards and you’re right, it’s so much better! Nothing worse than a flimsy sleeve. And thanks for the last point 😂. Going to check your channel out now

One tip I’d say for sorting is to ask your local LCS if they have any card storage boxes. Many of them have extra boxes lying around in the back and will give you one for free if they’re nice. Worked for me saved a couple bucks on an 800 ct box. Worse they can say is no

That’s a great tip! I see them recycle so many boxes all the time, I’m sure they’d happily give boxes away

I'm a newish follower (I think I already left a comment once or twice) but I felt the need to disagree with you on the general approach not to use Ringbinder. To me, that collectors superstition and nothing that should be cultivated. My local friends only use zip up, leather-bound, binders which are extremely expensive. In the end, it all comes down to how you collect. That said, I can see where you are coming from when you showed the cards in your binder: I totally agree that when you collect seriously you should store a card that it worth hundreds of dollars properly, even if it means to invest into storage possibilities. Yet, I have a large Ringbinder collection myself. Reason: they are side collections. One is a full Pokedex with A PAGE (18 cards) for every Pokemon, the other is an illustrator collection. The reason I need to use Ringbinders with inserts is simple - it would be too expensive and too tedious to do it in regular binders. Some Pokemon and Illustrators already needed a second or their page. In a regular binder, would need to move every single card every time. This way, I can just add a new page. Also the reason ring binders are usually not used is not the fact that the cards touch (as most insert files nowadays are double sided), but the fact that people aren't all to careful when they flip through, so the cards close to the rings are more likely to get damaged. Yet, if you do it carefully, nothing bad happens and it is an affordable way to store cards. If you interested in my collection hit me up on instagram at ol.manga.collector ! Keep the good work up!

Enjoyed reading through your comment…honestly I never thought of the perks of ring bindering until you brought them up! The inserting pages feature hit home, because nothing is worse than needing to redo an entire binder when you run out of room 😂. Your Pokédex idea is super dope too. Thanks for the different opinion on storing!!!

We wouldn’t have Pokémon without WWII. Many of the American soldiers brought baseball cards over to Japan. After the war there was a huge influx of American culture. Which would soon pave the way for Pokémon.

dosen't mean we wouldn't have it today, as the base idea of collecting bugs and animals is rooted in Japanese culture as well. Maybe it would have taken longer (as the connection to other countries would have been slower) but it was bound to happen anyways at some point - the scale of WHAT IF is just to big to tell how it all would have gone down exactly

@@jankomeisel9568well it’s recorded in articles that our baseball cards inspired the Japanese people. But I get what you’re saying.

@@RolandKoller90 yeah I did not want to say you were wrong, I just wanted to point out what came together and I guess something similar would have come about eventually. Similar collectibles were already the “star paintings” during edo period (Ukio e) for example.
