What’s reading slump mean?
@marianadias67693 жыл бұрын
@@blancajrodriguez it's when you stop reading or don't read as much as you used to. It may happen because you're currently reading a book that doesn't interest you, because you've had poor luck with your most recent reads, because you've read an amazing book and you feel like nothing will ever compare to ir, because of personal / world circumstances, or you may even not have a reason. On the bright side, reading slump are usually temporary, so if you get into one you'll eventually get rid of it :) - they can last a week or years, there's really no rule. Personally, my slumps usually last 1/2 months

I have a complicated relationship with this book. I had been running from my sexuality for a long time and this book was like a "Georgia you are a lesbian." (This was the first lgbtq+ romance I had read since I'm not a romance person so this was totally new.) And I was like "No! I am soooo straight." And this book was like "GEORGIA you are....a LESBIAN." I wad never homophobic and have always supported the lgbtq+ community. But me? I could never. At least that's what I told myself. I hates this book but I loved it. I hated it because it caused so much turmoil but I related to it and understood it so I loved it. Finally after accepting my sexuality I re read it and loved it. This book is to this day very important to me because of how it affected me. It wad a little hard to accept who I was and this book pushed me into the final stretch of darkness before the light. I now love and accept myself for who I am.

Until december 2019 when I felt for the first time like reading again. But I had no clue what book to pick up. So I tiped "book recommendations" on youtube (not knowing anything about the booktube community but figuring there must be some videos on the topic haha). I came across one of your old book recommendations videos and just bought some books off your recommendations, not knowing anything else about it. Namely "An Amber in the Ashes", "The Sun is also a Star" and "A darker Shade of Magic". And it pulled me out of my reading hiatus big time. I've read over a 80 books since and am so happy to be reading again. So thank you Hannah! I'll be sure to check out your new recommendations too. ❤

All the controversy aside, I felt like me when I was 12-13 this book would have become my favourite book of all time but now it feels too simple.
