Ranieri was actually very good at Chelsea, not merely decent. While Mourinho was great and right away, what he did was continue trajectory of the club under Ranieri. He, as much as Mourinho, guided Chelsea from the Dennis Wise "win with grit" era into the Lampard/Terry "win with quality AND grit" era. Klopp is the greatest manager of this era for the same reason SAF is the greatest in UK football history. Both have taken clubs of minimal stature and finances. Then done things only much bigger clubs could do *AND* succeeded with big clubs at the highest level. That is, they've been both David Moyes and Pep. And succeeded at both. While Moyes and Ranieri both were mediocre to bad at bigger clubs. And Pep has never had to work with less than maximal resources. Klopp built Mainz from nothing into a Bundesliga side. He took a near-bankrupt Dortmund and turned them into Bayern and Real Madrid killers. Then he took Liverpool at a time when their resources were barely top 6 and returned them to glory. And done that while holding to his ideals of football, while adapting to the changing stature of his club and the way teams play them. And yes l, I'm going beyond scope of video in that. But Ranieri is the one who would be the only comparison. And even in Italy, Claudio has been better as an underdog manager than a big club manager.
