This is standard stoic philosophy ; Marcus Aurelius mediations. Seneca, Epictetus enchiridion etc. Certainly enhances mental skills and controlling your bets. I take on-board your examples, interested in your strategy Caan. Appreciate your wisdom, thanks.

Absolutely..I found practicing minimalism helps me too. My phone is now a learning and time management tool. I have to constantly reassess these things as there is always a slow creep back to bad habits if I don't watch out. An accountability friend is good too.

Can't support you with number 4 enough. So, so true, everything you've said. especially the D word - discipline. From someone who is openly prejudice against roly polies (and I also admit that prejudice is weakness), the mental benefits of basic, regular exercise cannot be understated. And I'm a lot older than you. I hope your followers listen to you on this Caan. Very well said - all of your words on number 4.

Good stuff, James. I hope you do. Part of the problem is that many people know what the 'should' be doing to achieve what they want, they just don't do it... not for long anyway. Consistency is powerful. Trouble is it's hard to see/recognise and so it doesn't get the credit it deserves.

Hey Caan. I have a question. I have found a betting strategy which is giving me a lot of success. The only problem is Im spending 2 - 3 hours each going through all the soccer matches to be played on each day. Do you think I should look for some software to cut the research time down? Cheers!

It depends on what you are looking for. I wouldn't advise doing everything one by one. I've been there! Usually there are ways you can find an automated solution easily.

Hey Caan. Have you ever had a drink or drug problem that's hindered you in life, I just mean the way you talk is from someone who is quite sorted now. This is a real question that I'm interested to know the answer too... As in when you were younger and feeling disillusioned and then came to a point where you changed. (Very good life advice in this video, absolutely brilliant) Thanks... George

Caan, you sound more like Adam Heathcote everyday, you'll be worshiping trees and doing yoga next - haha!!! Each to our own I guess..... Personally, trading for me is all about freedom....I prefer to wake up about 10ish or what ever time I like, watch a movie in bed, whilst the Mrs is busy at work, enjoy that quiet time.... Get up maybe around 12pm to 1pm-ish, shower, before doing the boring bit.... (Trading is totally boring and repetitive work for me and if is not for you, then your are probably doing something wrong or not quite got there yet!) I'll trade for a just about 3 hours per day or as much time I can do without losing focus - that's extremely important to me.... best to stop than get it wrong!!!, I usually average somewhere between just £50 to £200 a day, it varies a lot depending on my laziness, how much effort I can be bothered with, my motivation, which is often effected by my previous days profits, that makes a big difference but of course I am totally aware of what races are actually available that suit my personal strategies (I gave up over trading a long time back now, for the good!) but that's enough money for me - I'm not greedy, I'm in my late 40's now and am lucky enough to be able to get by on just £500+ per month to pay my bills, (I have other streams of income too, which makes it even easier) but the freedom of trading means so much more to me!!!.....I'll be honest, after trading each day, I like to get totally on it, party like a b*****d, spend time with friends, meals, the Mrs, walk the dog, drink a bottle of voddy, play guitar, write a new song.(currently working on a boomtown rats cover - "Tell me why, I don't like Wednesdays?" - a traders joke! lol) etc. etc...I enjoy life, rather than having someone breathing down my neck constantly in an office. Maybe go to bed about 3pm/4pm-ish and get up ready for the next day (or not - I only trade 4 to 5 days a week!) - I am living my dream!!!.... Like I said though, each to our own, I guess!!!! ...... This is seriously pretty much is what I do, but please understand I am totally 100% focused when I trade, because if I wasn't, I could not enjoy the rest of my very slobbish life style in exchange! There's thousands of ways to skin a cat (or profit from Betfair in this case) Caan's approach in this video on self-discipline, I do not denied, is my far more sensible and definitely far more healthier than mine will ever be, but I'm happy with my approach too!! But my end story is, if it wasn't for Caan who I discovered, along with trading Betfair in general, about 8-10 years ago now, I would definitely not be enjoying my life as much as I do today!!!! So thanks Caan, hopefully I can buy you a beer one day! All the best, Jay!

Haha. You realise some of these things as you get older! Be self sufficient, earn as much as you can, doing less, and don't waste it. Because the only person getting screwed over doing otherwise is yourself!
@Jay28u4 жыл бұрын
@@CaanBerryProTrader it is so true my friend, everyone is trying to screw you over from all angles, most people don't even realise or see it's happening to them...... Most people fail because they give up the minute things get hard. If I had a £1 for every time someone told me they want to MB or trade but don’t want to spend any time learning how to do it, and then they all want 6 figures a year from an hour or two a day 🙄 Everyone seems to want a quick fix and then blame some other group when it doesn’t work. Good 🥾 up the 🕳 and a bit of hard work is the “secret” but people will empty their pockets to any charlatan who will tell them otherwise and troll the internet venting their anger at successful people when it doesn’t work.
