Travis, thank you. Your videos have been a great help to me on my church and quartets gigs. Could you do a video on tips and tricks to help bass players "hear" their way through a song? On many church gigs and services, we have to hear our way through the songs a singer decides to do during devotionals. Sometimes the Pastor, or whoever is behind the mic, just starts to sing and you just have to find key and try to follow the changes! I often struggle with this. Can you help?

That’s only pure logic: hitting the 6th on a dorian scale ignite the locrian one, it’s just the same notes, but played in a different order to add that blues taste with the tritone. On the simplistic side, that tritone/diminished fifth on the locrian scale is just the minor 3rd of the main dorian mode you’re playing over, so hey… of course it will sounds good, not rocket science 🤷🏻♂️
