You are such an S-Coupe enthusiast! I love it! If you have a garage anywhere, start buying tools! The window work you should be doing yourself. You can. Study the project before hand. Get the shop manual for the CL and be your own mechanic.

Man I wish you lived in my town because I could have helped you with the mounts. Benzman remember me? I have the a Black '07 CL550 and Im a retired MB and BMW tech with over 42 yrs experience. Mounts are a must about every 5 years and only use Lemforder brand as they were the factory original part and in my opinion the only ones that last! They are hydraulic cushions and have oil inside of them. Now when it comes to the suspension the ABC hydraulic suspension is second to none! Why? Because it is smart and maintains your car flat through the turns and stops the front end from diving when hard breaking too. Granted if you do not take care of it properly it will fail and cost big money to fix! MB says its maintenance free....bullshit! They also have recanted that statement as a fluid flush and reservoir filter change should be done every 30K to keep the hydraulic fluid clean and the valves free from dirt and hose debris. Usually around every 3-5 years the pump damper will fail. That is the round ball mounted on the top of the tandem pump. Inside it has a rubber diaphragm and is charged with nitrogen gas. The rubber and nitrogen absorb the pulsation vibrations that the pump produces and makes the pump silent. When it fails you will know as the pump will growl as if it were bad and many a mechanic will make the mistake of replacing the pump assembly only to find out it was the pulsation damper instead! Always change the damper first! If there is still noise then replace the pump and flush the system. I just did mine a week ago and its so quiet. I also did my mounts too and you dont feel a thing. And yes the mounts can take the torque but the only other option you have is to install solid rubber mounts and I promise you wont like the feel. I will tell you what Ive told people for years. "Maintenance is cheaper than repair!" man I could go on for hours but I gotta go and get a few things done. Oh yes one last note when one of the rear windows stops working. Test for signal to the control unit from the switch and if its getting signal, check if the motor is working by energizing it with battery power and ground. if it works then have to control unit reprogrammed. This usually will fix the issue 90% of the time. If not the control unit will need replacement. We should talk some time but I dont want to post my cell number here. @@3DThaRapstar Hey I was thinking about you today as I am out there playing with my car and hey I looked and there is an access cover at the rear of the headlight assembly! Now granted to get at it you will have to move a couple of things out of the way to get there. Like the ABC reservoir and then you can get your hand in there to change the side marker bulb. Take a nice bright flash light and look in there and you will see it. Now you can save yourself $1000 to change a bulb!

Always buy a warranty with these cars! Motor mounts, suspension, blower motor all common problems I’ve had with my Benzos. Other than that they are honestly pretty solid cars!

If your suspension needs to changed. Next time opt for a full accuair set up. You'll spend less money and have the best ride next to OEM. Plus you can slam it when you park.

Hey depending on which state you live in, many states have a law that requires your insurance company to pay for the front windshield! I live in Florida and when a rock hit mine and cracked it. I had it replaced for FREE! Yes FREE at Safelite Auto Glass and hold your breath that glass installed cost $1650. But Geico insurance payed it under Florida law. Thank God they did too because I didnt have the cash to do it. So check it out in your state and see. Also if you have comprehensive it may be covered if it was hit by a flying object. The side marker bulb is off on the drivers side! To access that bulb I think you will need to remove the entire head light assembly to get at it. And get this....its better to replace both sides at the same time with new bulbs as the way the system works is to compare the draw or better said the resistance between both sides. Now that is a big job which may require removing the front bumper to get at it. So yes that is not gonna be cheap to do. You need a good local technician who will work on your car at your place or his and make him your best friend. Man I hate to see people get ripped off at the dealership which here in Florida is at $180-$200 an hour flat rate! Ouch! So people need to give private mechanics a little respect and not try to low ball them. So many people these days are simply not happy with a good deal. No they want a STEAL of a DEAL instead and insult the very person who stands to save you thousands in repairs. So when you find a very highly skilled technician who knows what he is doing and he is doing a job for you at half of what you would pay at the dealer, be happy and dont haggle the price! Just say thanks do what the car needs and keep me posted on anything you see that may need attention. I put that out there not for you Benzman but for all of those cheap ass mofo's that you get all of the time on Craigslist ha ha you know the type Im talking about Im sure. We've all had to deal with them every time you go to sell something! ha ha! Any way I threw this up here to help you. I hope they have that law there because its a safety issue. it kinda did look like your left marker light was out. I have a S500 2004 get same light it was going in and out after changing used after market bulb. Don't know if it says it again might try getting a bulb from the dealer.

I don't have a CL550 but I feel your pain. I have experienced alot of same issues with my 2005 w220 S500. Engine and transmission are solid. All the other components like you said go bad. Always something. Nice when no sensor lights are on but then you know its not going to be long before one goes off! 😆

I have a 2011 CL 550 4Matic with Sports Package , I wish I had known this before I bought a 2011 or 12 for that matter. That was the first year of the W278 motor . They fixed this problem in 2013 , the timing chain tensioner fails and then your chain is loose , and jump teeth and come off , my motor had 69822. And threw it's chain , it's an interference engine , motor blown at 69822. Not happy Mercedes , you should have done a recall , you chose not to , you let the bean counters win , I think when you drop 172k on a car it should last much longer than 69822. So obviously I had to buy a new motor dealership wanted 42k for a remanufactured one 3 month wait time . But I did find one with 63k on it complete with harness , turbos , but it was $9800. And the first thing I did is replace all timing chain components , so this should not happen again. So again beware of 2011 & 2012 W278 motors , this is a notorious issue , spoke to many mechanics . Fixed in 2013 a revision was done and was no longer an issue.

Beautiful car ! My CLS 550 is a little rough w factory wheel tires , I can’t imagine what ur ride is like with those rubber bands on those good looking rims. I’d be afraid of busting a tooth lol. Yea that front windshield was a pain and set me back $1,800 to replace. And of course I went with OEM I couldn’t cheap out and put non OEM especially having the night vision system. The OEM also has a special tint color that hits in sun or shade that’s not available with non OEM.

Im talking specifically about 63 version, but Im happy to hear about 55 or 65 or 600 as well. Im looking now 63 AMG in Europe, its very hard to find good 63 for adequate price. by the 2020 May average normal price for this car is 20-30k$ but You can also see with the price tag 40-50k$. How much is it cost now in the USA?

Yeah bro. They are roughly around the same 07 to 2010 go for around 30k and 2011 and up go for around 35 k and up but depends on mileage also. And as far as maintenance it's suspension, rear window not working will need new motor, motor mounts , of course brakes, radiator just to name a few all other stuff will be minor

Yes unfortunately that do but they are great cars, the suspension fails or need work every 4-7 years and can cost a lot and yes window regulators fail and other electrical gremlins but worth it if I had to say

Hey Benzman... enjoy your videos. I have a 2013 550 CL... Had a CL55 which was lost in a hurricane. Totally agree with the way the windows look when both / all down. I just got my CL... now has 40k miles. Bought a 2 year warranty for $5k and of course, it's running perfectly. Nothing has gone wrong.....yet. I am scheduled for a C service which I think is just one of those $400 oil changes and whatever they find. Haven't used the CD player yet...No USB ports! WTF!

This is a luxury series from Mercedes. Many of these things can be fixed easily, especially the windows. The window is expensive because of the coating on it however it should be part of your insurance. Adc has always been expensive to fix
