On double up - maybe worth keeping spatulas but as a super rare item on assist armories like the radiant item / tac crown / etc? I play exclusively double up with my partner and the fact that spatulas are an option is definitely something that factors into our team planning. It was nice to be able to have the option there just because emblems in general are so incredibly hard to get right now. I think that if tomes/spats come back even in a small way to augments that will even out.

I said it before that removing spats from double up gift armories can be beneficial to the mode long term if it's followed up by more changes, but short term it makes it much less interesting. That happens when you leave it without many changes pretty much since it's introduction and then remove what makes the mode fun for a lot of people, me included. Hitting those prismatics is pretty much impossible in a regular tft and double up filled that gap - it was like a mini URF and people who didn't find regular tft as interesting could play double up instead. Now these two modes are much more homogenized and people who find regular tft less interesting are understandably upset.

I think the double up spat removal is a good thing. part of why it might feel bad is that the whole set is build around headliners trait buff which caused augments to get spats/emblems to get removed. if those come back it should normalize again and give a balanced feeling in normal and double up games while not beeing fcking overrepresented. great change mort!

Just a question why you don't make a support traits anymore like the ones that give your team mana or magic resist or shield and heal power ? I hope you bring back these kind of traits in the next sets 🙏

@@danzo942 dunno about the others but Mort has mentioned mystic on stream and how players typically hated it. They would play the mr comp and expect to auto win against any magic dmg comp, proceeding to get upset and yell at the devs when that did not happen. To my knowledge they are trying to avoid any more of those "counter" comps.

@@inhinh7017 I don’t, I’m just offering feedback. Mort and team are ultimately the developers, but I personally feel it would be more successful if there was some sort of reminder that I’ve selected it.

Maybe I am crazy, but Gragas didn't need these buffs. He needed changed. Hes a Bruiser + Spellweaver, but only gains valuable scaling off of one of these traits. His AP. The Ap has no value on his healing, and his health has no value anywhere on his kit. Why not give him mixed %health and AP values on both his healing and damage, or give his %HP scaling to his heal, while spellweaver AP buffs his damage? that way, in bruiser 6, he can be a viable tank if 3 star, and in spellweaver comp the AP has an impact, possibly leading him to be a psuedocarry in spellweaver comps. Not sure how this change never went through, it didn't need to be massive, but givng him scaling on his heal would have been enough to let literally any player actually put items on him. Even in disco comps people itemize Taric>Gragas, then flip those items to blitz later.

(im not saying this is a bad buff whatsoever, I'm just saying the bruiser fantasy of gragas feel short the entire set, while Olaf and Poppy both had time to shine with HP values at various points.)

The double up changes are interesting. They are good from a balance perspective, however, I do not think that they were so unbalanced that they warranted a removal. The spats and tomes were extremely fun, and so was having 2 training dummies, and 3 components. Double up was basically a really fun way to play with a friend AND a way to cap even higher than most normal games. Now it is only the former. I will still play and have fun with a friend, but not being able to hit fun stuff really hurts the enjoyment derived from the game mode.

Now its only a fun way to play with your friend and not the lottery of who of the lossstreakers is closer to the spat wins the whole game? Man thats so sad. The option to cap your board higher is still there as hitting a 3* 4 cost is still way easier

Bruh, in total, the set is like 2 patches longer than each half-set would be out on the old schedule. Go play 3.5 or take a break if it bothers you that much. It's great that Mid-Sets are gone and they definitely should stay gone.

@@doomse150 if they keep bringing back set revivals (and maybe add a ranked queue to them) I won't have a problem with it but honestly it's just getting stale at this point for me. I've already achieved the rank I wanted now I'm just bored of it, plus 3.5 doesnt have a ranked system unfortunately.

Why would you want a rank system in a game mode with a pool size of 50 for each champ tho

@@friend2194 why not? It's not like it's tied in with the regular season rank of the main TFT set. I don't like playing TFT or league causally. In my opinion it's a waste of time. I'd rather see my imaginary number on screen go up or down with a game instead of just playing for no reason lol

@@iggykoopaa because there would be 3 or 4 players with the same strongest comp, the difference is they could cap out their board with more champs in the pool. Right now people are playing for the nostalgia so we still see different comps. I don't see th point of a rank system in a mode that is changed around being fun
