I'm 7 months in too, going on 8 months this month and your locs look great! I got my locs started Dec 23. Yes please do a locs in the workplace video, I am looking for a job and I feel like during this stage of my locs, people look at my hair judgementally during interviews, etc. Hang in there!

Your locs are looking great at 7 months! Be wary of rose water with more than two ingredients (water and roses). I use it as a carrier for my oils due for the ph level. And Yasss, I’d love a locs in the workplace video! Looking forward to your next update 💛

Very nice positive encouraging words at the beginning!! Time, patience and perseverance are 3 of the many lessons locs have taught me!! I locked my kids hair and on my 3rd set if locs as a stylist. Learned so much over the years!! Just wanted to tell you don't let your stylist rip the locs apart... 1. You're ripping your hair and 2. It hurts like hell!! That's what ended my older sons 1st loc journey, the ripping was too much for him so we combed out a 6 month loc journey ☹️. that's what I was doing, too, ripping method .. but over the years I've learned better!!! The hair that tangles between locs after long time not retwisting is not long strands . You can get them separated pain free by getting your part and holding the hair you want on each side taught and using your pointer finger to play them like a guitar string.. 85%-100% of those little hairs separate, on stubborn ones I use a hair dresser scissors that have teeth so it doesn't cut even.

Thank you for the tip. I'm almost 2 years now and have started retwisting them myself. Since doing it on my own I have had this problem any more. I've tried doing the two strand twist when I don't feel like retwisting to keep them separated and it works great. Not sure if I'm ready to try the scissor method but that's a good idea if it happens again. -K

Congrats for making it to 7 months! I'm a week away from that milestone. Your locs look great, so full and I can see the length coming in too! I use Rose Water(The Heritage Store brand) , but it has like 2 ingredients. I can definitely feel the difference in using that opposed to Distilled water which I primarily used for the first 6 months of my journey.

Just gorgeous! I am glad you talked about self care and how it impacts your body and spirit. I do not have locks but my hair is in its beautiful, natural form and it does reflect in your hair how well you take care of your self . Be blessed

You're locs are coming along so nice!! I started right after Thanksgiving 2017 at a "fried dyed laid to the side" type salon but I didn't like my parting so I took them out and had them restarted at the end of February by a loctitian. My journey has been a journey but I'm enjoying it more now. It's teaching me patience and I feel low key building character. Now people tell me they like my locs & that shower trick works. It livens up my locs. Both video ideas are Good I would watch both. Your loctitian seems so cool, she has good vibes about her. I do notice the all loc crushes & my fave loc YT influencers ALL do their own hair & they avoid loctitians due to bad experiences.

Hey Kayla! Yes talk about pros and cons of a loction. Its funny cause ive been to your loction before and yes shes an awesome person and so0o0 funny but i think i will stick to doing my own hair. I started my locs and sometimes you just want to get pampered and have someone else do your hair and ive been to 4 different loctions within my 3 years of having locs and i must say i think im better off doing my own hair lol.

Love your Locks. Im against loctitions. I very clearly showed a picture of the way i wanted my Locks to be done and i will be damn if she still didnt give me what i wanted. Then she cut the hair ( frizz) down the shaft of my hair which can cause your locks to thin out. One reason why i was upset was because she had a large following. She was suppose to be one of the best but......jezz!! So now i do my own hair and with the help of You tube im doing a excellent job of maintaining my hair. What a idiot.

Before locin’ I considered how it would be being a teacher with locs with a white boss. I did it any way and just thought of up dos I would do if there was going to be a problem. But as of now I have not had anyone address me about it. But I would love to hear what you have to say about.

I just started my journey! Did the relaxer thing .. then the loose natural now my loc journey and I’m loving it so far!
