Good morning from North Carolina, it is 4:09 a.m. Here and I'm having trouble getting back to sleep so hopefully you can read me to sleep. Thank you!! I really appreciate your work! It's really nice when the backgrounds are dark because I can't watch them when they're light at night trying to sleep! Thank you for all your hard work! ❤

I am a recovering addict, I've been clean going on 5 yrs. Let me tell you detoxing in jail SUCKS! HARD, and the harder the drug and the longer you've been doing it means the harder the detox is. It is not so hard that dying should be your reaction to getting cought! It's not so hard that you should kill over not wanting to face it. LIFE is so sweet when you find the will and the power to leave those drugs behind and really start living your life. Always choose your life over the drug and never let it make you take a life when faced with the consequences of doing those drugs.

Your words all fall on the deaf ears of people who will most likely end up in the ground from an unstable illicit supply because that medication he was abusing is being withheld from disabled in agony who are dying on a daily basis. Soon it will be me.🆘♿️🆘

Congrats on 5 years clean!!! I know how very difficult it is to get to such an amazing milestone and you should be extremely proud of yourself!!! I’m on my 6th year clean and every day is still a struggle but it’s so much better than the alternative. I also agree that the thought of detoxing is terrible but not enough to kill or die for. Even the disappointment from the people that I love that I so very carefully hid my addiction from wasn’t even enough for that. It actually took me owning my addiction and telling my family and friends that I was an addict, which of course they all already had figured it out, I was just blind and hyper focused on only my addiction at that time. But the best thing I did was tell my village because I wouldn’t have been able to do it on my own.

After finding this channel on KZbin, I then started listening to it on Spotify during my 12hr over night shifts at work. I’ve listened to every story uploaded on Spotify twice, some more, and working on just over 3/4 of all the KZbin stuff now. I can nearly recite some stories by memory now 🙈 my wife thinks I have a problem 🤣🤣

In the fourth story the fact that the guy couldn’t tell right away that the dude was an organ harvester was crazy other then asking him medical questions saying that it’s his job to know about ppl and u won’t be able to work for 6-8 weeks, this shoulda set off alarms. But only $4000 for a kidney ain’t worth it in ideal conditions but trusting this guy and hoping that he’ll just take the kidney then get u the medical attention u need is a bit of a risk especially when u realize that once they open u up they’re most likely just gonna take it all; both kidneys, your liver, lungs, heart, eyes and maybe even brain. They’ll put u under and odds r you’re never waking back up

In context to the third story, what a shame. The guy didn't want to go down for oxy's and detox in jail, but the truth is, detoxing in jail is much easier than doing it on the streets. I don't know if it's a psychological effect of knowing that you can't have anything or what, but detoxing in jail as much easier than it is on the streets. As someone who's been an opiate addict since 2015, I've spent my few times in jail (and 3 months in prison), and every time I've been locked up, the withdrawals are minimal. At least they were when I was doing opana/oxymorphone (think oxycontin's stronger, older brother). Now I don't know about fentanyl or methadone, but the pills are relatively easier to come off of. And when I tell you that withdrawals on the outside are miserable, I'm not exaggerating. You would almost rather die than feel that way; cold sweats, body pain, stomach pain, diarrhea, vomiting, and anxiety as high as I've ever had. Sort of like you were thrown from a vehicle while you had the flu is what it feels like. I'm going to the methadone clinic now so I'm trying to get myself together, but just a little tidbit for anybody that maybe scared of coming off of opiates in custody of corrections, it's not too bad.

I may not know you but I really hope you can kick it. As a previous intravenous opiate user (4 years clean) life off the streets and drug free is SOOO worth it. My thoughts go out for you. I hope you can achieve sobriety and all the amazing things that come with!

@melissadwiggins
@melissadwiggins Жыл бұрын
@@user-sleepy33 I didn't say anything about it being easier to get sober. I'm saying that withdrawal symptoms, for some reason, aren't nearly as bad when you're in jail as opposed to on the street. Of course people get out and start using again; that's the cause for many overdoses. They go back to what they were using beforehand not realizing that they're tolerance has dropped and they end up dead. But I can say that if you do actually want to get clean and do the work, going to jail makes the withdrawals easier than doing it on the outside.

The very last story is legitimately identical of what happened to my dad. He was 48 isntead of 33. If you hadn't of said the age, I wouldve thought this was one of his nurses. I witnessed what this nurse did, and everything she said is hauntingly accurate. If anyone is suffering with alcohol addiction, please reach out to friends, family and medical facilities for help. Noone deserves to go in such a traumatic way no matter the circumstances.

This August I'll have four years of sobriety. I started to smoke weed at 11 and by the time I was 13 I started using pills and eventually got into heroin And other drugs but heroin was my main drug, after my first rehab that only kept me for 6 days I found out my girl was pregnant ( she never touched drugs) told myself I would use one more time and I did but started drinking Heavy as a substitute. Drank a liter of vodka every day and then eventually got back into drugs until I realized my kids at an age where he's going to start remembering and finally quit. I came from a family of addicts that drank everyday. I can without a doubt say withdrawal for sure makes death sound good especially alcohol withdrawal! The couple years of drinking was way worse than over 10 years of heroin abuse. Wouldn't wish it on anyone but I also wouldn't shoot an innocent person just to not go through it😂

Trust me, is a mess, is pure gore and it is traumatazing to just hold someone's hand and wait until they finish to bleed out (when we cant get a sengstaken tube down fast enough to tamponade the place).
