Love the Cosm. Truly feels like you’re floating on air. Superior smooth movement when leaning back or even to the sides. But, it’s quite hard to stay in a lean back position, you really have to tense your legs to do it or put them up on something.

actually didn't know the Mirra 2 had asynchronous tension/depth lumbar, like the Haworth Zody. definetely one of the most elusive features in ergonomic chairs and I particularly like it in the Zody for my herniated disc (which extrudes to one of the sides of my back).

As of Oct 2022, the Celle was no longer offered in the HM store. I assume it was discontinued in between when this video was made. Bought a used one for an employee. Found it very cheap actually and WAY better than her standard chair. I also assume betwen this video was made (Feb 2021) and today Jan 2023, there have been several price hikes, because those prices are no longer current. Big difference thoughh!

I’m about 6’3 190 pounds, the Mirra 2 is the comfiest office chair I’ve ever sat on. The adjustable thigh option is so neat to have with my long legs.

I had an Aeron classic in the office but once work from home home kicked in it wasn't too long until I decided a footstool wasn't going to cut it and I bought a remastered for myself. While I know the mesh can be a little polarizing, for anyone who does like the mesh style, there is no better chair out there.

For some reason, gaming chair enthusiasts seem to hate Herman Miller chairs with a passion. You'll often see their comments ranging from "their chairs are overrated" to "gaming chairs are better than these chairs for work/gaming". I don't want to sound rude, but I won't be surprised if it's because they genuinely can't afford these chairs (even though refurbished ones are available) and are therefore jealous of anyone showcasing them in a video.

I love the aeron back rest and seat and I liked the chair but I had so much neck and back pain. I experienced the same thing in the embody. I like both the chairs but both hurt me to sit in. I tried to adjust everything not only on the chairs but on my desk as well. Nothing worked chairs are getting sent back and I’m trying the think and the fern! In my opinion The embody is overrated though the pixels on the back I couldn’t really feel but in the middle of the backrest it always felt like a fist was pushing into my back and not supporting the rest.

There is something VERY IMPORTANT you missed when reviewing these chairs... Herman Miller chairs designs chairs with a clear idea of who would be using them. For example, the Embody Chair was built around the needs of gamers, programmers and those who work exclusively with computers. It was specifically designed to appeal to computer types who hate the Aeron. The Aeron and Embody chairs are designed for someone who is going to sit for most of the day--six plus hours. The other chairs were designed for people who will sit for shorter periods of time. The Cosm chair was designed for the C-Suite. The other chairs were designed for people who are going to use them for less than six hours a day.

Honestly didn’t like the aeron or the embody. I feel as if I fight the chairs every time I sit in them. I have a fern and a think coming soon to try out so hopefully those are better.
@bonnyd.5334
@bonnyd.5334 2 жыл бұрын
@@Dr.Smelly I think the Fern is a fine chair. I like the fact that there are many great chairs to choose from. I like the fact that Haworth has showrooms, that you can see and sit in the chair before you buy. Like HermanMiller, Haworth stands behind its products. It was on my shortlist when I was looking for an office chair last November. I have chronic upper back problems and very broad shoulders. I found that the Fern chair did not provide enough upper back support for me. I had no problem with the fact that the Aeron chair forces you to sit a particular way (fairly upright, feet flat on the floor). If you don't like to sit that way, you are absolutely going to hate the Aeron. Again, I have a bad back and this chair provides the support and the adjustability I need. I found that, if you aren't familiar with the Aeron chair, you really do need to go to a HermanMiller showroom. You definitely need someone who knows how to fit this chair in order to appreciate it. Frankly, when I was looking at chairs, the Aeron was not on my shortlist. I haven't had a problem with my chronic upper back injury since purchasing the Aeron. Your mileage may vary. If I had to choose between the Fern chair and the Embody chair, I would go with the Fern. These are great chairs, but I like the Fern's back more than the Embody. Had I purchased the Fern, I'm sure I would have been very happy with it. I highly recommend visiting showrooms and checking out chairs. What works for one person does not necessarily work for another. Expect to spend north of 1k, approaching 2k, for a great office chair. It's an investment you will not regret. When I have friends over, I wheel my Aeron chair into my living room. Yes, my sofa is comfortable--my friends can have that. For me, my office chair is the most comfortable chair in the house--and that's my throne.

I purchased an Aeron (mesh) back in the early 2000s and in less than a year the mesh had stretched to the point that when I sat down my butt was hitting the top of the gear box below. They did a complimentary repair at my home by replacing the mesh seat material but I felt the unit was doomed for future issues and ended up returning it to the dealer with a 25% restocking fee. My weight/height was still valid for the model I got but there was a larger model available. The chair is still popular today (though I think the looks and comfort overrides any longevity concerns which is a wrong approach) and recommended. Whether they or others such as this X1 have solved the stretching over time remains to be seen. I will not be buying another mesh chair again.

I had a Herman Miller Chair for several years and loved it. My one complaint was, after a few years the arm rest height adjustment lock didn't work anymore. I contacted the company and they agreed to fix my chair. All I needed to do was give them the model number, the proof of purchase and the year the chair was manufactured. I didn't have the purchase receipt and couldn't find any markings or label on the chair that gave me the information they needed. I called the company back and told them what I was faced with. They told me I had to have that information or there was nothing they could do for me. I was told to look for a printed label on the chair and get the information from that. No such label was on the chair. No markings, no labeling. I told them I'd gladly pay out of pocket and not expect a warranty repair; I just wanted the chair fixed. "I'm sorry sir, without that information there's nothing we can do. I was P'd. A twelve year warranty. You have to have info from a stuck on label. There was no other markings anywhere on the chair. That label could have fallen off and gotten swept away well within that twelve years. Slick warranty, Herman Miller.
