I flew direct from Bangkok to Banda Seri Begawan with Royal Brunei Airlines. The comfortable seat and entertainment on board made the 2 hours 45 min flight seem very shorter. Suddenly, we are here at one of the richest and most peaceful countries in the world - Brunei Darussalam.
I had such a warm welcome by Ricky, my new friend here, reminding me of the first time I was here with the Ship for Southeast Asian and Japanese Youth Program.

swampzoid Hahaha.. you are right. I was so happy with the food 🍜🍛🍤😊. Ambuyat was new to me. It is Brunei’s National dish. The way local people eat is that they do not chew, just swallow. Quite interesting! Salted Egg Squid is so so yummy. I am hungry again now 😄😋

the cake house really serves several colourful Sarawakian layer cakes! my aunt used to make this Sarawak layer cake with the sweet and sour plum candy since her son resides in Kuching, Sarawak for years. the difference between pulasan and rambutan is not only the way of opening the fruit but the appearance as rambutan is hairier than pulasan since rambut is a Malay word for hair. of course, there are several types of rojak in Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei and Indonesia. you can also dip the patongko or youtiao into the rojak sauce and it's has been my favourite since young. don't forget to try out the famous Penang Rojak whenever you are in Penang!
