I wish crank baits worked like that in real life.. in my lake I catch a branch everytime
@mariopuzo45094 жыл бұрын
I was about to mention how much money id spend doing that at the river.
@colewyatt52984 жыл бұрын
Get a softer action rod with more bend. Itll load up on the bill slower and pull it over instead of loading up quick and pulling straight into a branch. Mono also helps bc of stretch but flouro will dive a little deeper

Good info. I would like to know more about this tackle set-up. Looks like an Ike's cranking rod and the reel looks like an Abu Salty Stage SJ or a Big Shooter (both are JDM - Japanese Domestic Market).

How do you feel the difference between a bottom rock or a bite
@Wired2Fish8 жыл бұрын
If you're using a good cranking rod, the lure will hit and deflect off the rocks, but not lockup or snag. If it's a fish, the rod will load up, and stay loaded. It almost feels like a pulsing wet sock on a more parabolic cranking rod, which is often a medium-fast action vs. fast or extra fast.

The "edge" is called a breakline. Why don't you just use Spoonplugs? They're made out of metal and sink to bottom. You won't have to make such long casts.

But what if the fish wasn't behind the rock instead the fish noticed it when it got off the track

What about fishing at tanks? I mostly go largemouth fishing at my tank. Do you have any tips for using crank bait lures at tanks
@rhodesianhunter93604 жыл бұрын
I throw shallow cranks all the time on rivers...into the wood. I'm on a kayak and can retrieve a snag, but I can throw for hours without having too. The more you do it the better you get. Pike are the only time I lose a shallow crank. Buy a lure retriever for the deep cranks, if your on a boat...your good.
@oldqcc2 жыл бұрын
What line? Pike shouldn’t be biting off your lure
@rhodesianhunter93602 жыл бұрын
@@oldqcc It doesn't matter what kind of line when it's 6-16lb test. Don't get me wrong, I catch way more of them than lose. But I've had em slice though 40lb fluorocarbon.

How does his crank bait not hang up on the limbs underwater? It's just passes over it!? Mine gets stuck on that all the time
@MrPenny10058 жыл бұрын
keep a steady reel and hooks will stay back/out of the cover. if you're in horizontal cover/timber, when u bump in to something, dead stick it and stop reeling and let the bait float up and over the cover and start reeling again.

Thanks for the assist and great response!

Because they are pros…this is how you’re suppose to cast. I bat right handed…I’m not going to try to hit left cuz the base is closer 🤷♂️ dominant hand with the most power.
@elonmust74702 жыл бұрын
@@Jcestanley So hold the bat in your right hand all the time. Since we're on baseball, do you pitch right handed & then throw on a right handed glove to catch? Didn't think so.

@@elonmust7470 haha touché but I use my left hand to fish just like I use my glove on the left. Still, these guys are pros. They can out fish us in their sleep and somehow they cast wrong 🤷🏻♂️it’s a power and accuracy thing…my left only catches a ball my left only holds a rod and feels for a bite. I play guitar right handed but finger with my left but still considered playing right handed

i think you should use shorter lip crankbait..yours just hit rocks and it didnt swim normally.
@Wired2Fish5 жыл бұрын
Deflections are one of the key triggers for fish strikes. With a crankbait you really want to grind bottom on bounce off cover. Thats all part of the swimming action. Thanks for the comment!

All the pros tell us normal folks to throw our crankbaits into cover and into rocks, meanwhile they sit back and laugh at them, hive fives ,thats why we're pros and yall broke haha! Why would they give their secrets away, best way to catch fish is to fish...
