Great video, Crow. I haven't played all the games yet, but now I want to dive into this more. Thanks, Crow.

Many of the games in this collection were not what I was expecting them to be.

The Mayflash arcade stick: I just made a sixty second video about this today (a "short")... I actually have retro arcade sticks like that sitting next to my Evercade VS so that (in theory) I can use them the same way you do... but they're literally collecting dust.

I enjoy the super detailed and well articulated narratives. School is in session! 🎉

Thanks! I was kind of worried that these videos might be too long, I actually tried to make some of the previous ones shorter, but then I figured that I just wouldn't worry about it any more and just include whatever I felt was necessary regardless of the video length.

Crow, you go the deepest of all the Evercade KZbinrs, and it’s much appreciated. It’s not about who’s first with the videos, it’s about the quality. Keep it up. 👏👏

When I want to check out Evercade reviews Crow and occasionally No Swear Gamer are the go to KZbinrs. I don't understand why 'Crazy Burger' videos keep topping the recommendations or how CB gets all those subscribers as he's the most dull of all the Evercade related KZbinrs.
@simonwilliamson19795 ай бұрын
@@bigbabatunde1218I like Crazy Burger’s content. He is a proper gamer and has finished a lot of Evercade games not just played them all for 5 minutes.
@bigbabatunde12185 ай бұрын
@@simonwilliamson1979 Crow plays them through as well and has better reviewing skills. 'Crazy Burger' is very limited and monotone in his reviews.

Thanks and I'm fine with not killing myself just to get a video out as soon as possible. In fact, I don't even know how some people can make a video on something so quick. Those gigacarts got announced today and both Ed and Rich had videos about it in less than an hour. There's no way I could do that. (I also don't think "gigacarts" are that big of a deal)
@CrowContinuum5 ай бұрын
One thing for sure is that Crazy Burger is more well known in the Evercade community than I am. He's definitely in the Discord discussing things with others in there and I'll rarely leave a comment. It's all good though. It's not a popularity contest (or is it?).

On the actual review: I'm surprised to see this ranked below C64 collections, but your ranking is your call. Good job pointing out what made the games click (fullscreen for Citadel, item pushing for PETSCII Robots).
@CrowContinuum3 ай бұрын
The C64 Collections have an unfair advantage because I grew up playing many of those Epyx games.

great video, as always. Hard to disagree with you evaluation, even though my tastes are a little different.

Thanks for another great in depth review. I have this cart, but have not had a chance to play it yet. When I'm ready, I will definitely come back here to pickup the tips you've offered. I really enjoy many of the Evercade reviewers with their varied personalities and I enjoy listening to the difference in your opinions, but your reviews and playthroughs are almost, if not always, the most helpful and insightful. Wait a minute. I think I've told you that before. Well. I'm saying it again. 😃

@CrowContinuum3 ай бұрын
I don't know about that... The Pinball Arcade Season 2 was never even released in North America on a physical disc. I think it was only released like that in Europe and I think it was only on the PS4.

I saw this on a ten percent off sale a few days ago, and really thought, "Can I talk myself into buying this?" For me, the answer was no, and having looked at it so carefully within the last few days, Crow, I actually felt sorry for you, seeing that you'd forced yourself to play through it so thoroughly. I respect your commitment to journalistic integrity, but I really pity you because you had to suffer through these games.

Even if I wind up not liking a game, I'm usually glad I tried it out and most of the time can figure out why games were designed the way they were. So far there have only been a fraction of time where I've absolutely hated playing a game. You can tell those game because I give them a 2 out of 10. Just in case your curious, I give 1 out of 10 to games I consider to be broken in some way. Just to reiterate, I don't force myself to do anything I don't want to do. I just like exploring and experimenting with games, good or bad.

I was never too interested in these home computer collections and for good reason that still holds up. Attack of the Petscii Robots seems to have an illness inducing, jerky frame rate, and according to your review seems to have bad controls associated with the game also. The only other game of potential interest to me was Bridge Strike, but we've seen that type of game dozens of times before and is available as a mobile phone game, seemingly, so this is another dud collection of games getting released. Wouldn't be surprised if the new Pico and Sunsoft carts due for release is going to be the underwhelming Evercade highlight of 2024. It's good that you do these reviews though. They are informative and I wouldn't be as kind to some of these games if I was reviewing them.
@CrowContinuum3 ай бұрын
The jerky movements of Attack of the Petscii Robots really through me off at first, but once I switch to a different mindset in that it's a strategy game that was originally made for the Commodore PET, I started to really get into it, and really enjoyed it. To me, it's almost like a board game.
