Good food for thought! I generally am reluctant with giant cities, like New York and London. Size alone makes me think of BA. I always think of robbery risk. But I will defintely have to visit. Your information is making me think positively that BA may be a little like Chicago, a city I appreciate (my sister lives there) for its many many neighborhoods, little cities within the big city, also with good public transit, but that is even more true with New York. The biggest negative with all big cities is simply cost of living, which will be higher compared to somewhat smaller places. Funny you mentioned Santiago, Chile, because I kind of have my heart set on moving to a suburb of Mendoza, which would allow me to visit the Chilean capital from time to time. We'll see.

But I would also like to mention the fact that Buenos Aires Argentina has all 4 seasons but not any snow or ice and also you don't have to worry about natural disasters like hurricanes,earthquakes or forest fires. And the public parks are awesome 👌 👏.

I just recently moved alone for the first time in my life: after having lived in BA for 29 years, I had to move to Bariloche for work. And while I think some of your points don't apply to the least densely populated parts of the city (I'm from Mataderos, where 24/7 shops are rare-ish and you usually need to take a bus for most cultural activities) I'm really starting to notice how spoiled I've been in some aspects. Delivery services here are non-existant outside of a very specific radius, you really need a car to move since everything is so far away and, while the landscspes are beatiful, this city is far from walkable. Long story short, I've started appreciating all of those things you mentioned a lot more now that I'm no longer living there. I'll probably make good use of them whenever I get to move back.

Hey Rodrigo! Thank you for your comment and for taking the time to watch the video, it really means a lot! Thank you so kuch for this! So informative. My family (5) is visiting BA for two weeks towards the end of October to visit. The five of us are moving to BA summer of 2023. We want to explore the city and neighborhoods to find the right spot for us. We are so excited and this information definitely helps with that excitement. Some things we have been curious about are housing prices, especially those with 3+ bedrooms. You may not be able to speak to this, but how is queer/LGBTQIA+ living in BA. We have queer members of our family(myself being one) and would love to get a feel for the environment around the city. Also, if you have any recommendations on places to visit, such a restaurants, certain museums, etc, that would be awesome! You may not be able to answer these all, but any information is always helpful. Keep up the great videos! You are truly helping 😊
@sabrinahuyke2 жыл бұрын
Hey Taylor! Thank you for the support, it really means a lot! I am not really aware of what the prices for places with 3+ bedrooms are like to be honest, but I'm sure that your family will be able to find something! Maybe not so much so in the center of the city but a bit to the edges of Capital Federal. Belgrano is a great residential neighborhood really and prices MIGHT be better there than in other places, also maybe Villa Urquiza! Buenos Aires is also a very LGBTQIA+ friendly city! I won't say it's perfect, because I am sure there are people who have had bad experiences, even if I am not personally one of those people. But in general terms, I can say that I feel like this city is a very safe space for queer people, definitely safer than where I was before. I've never felt the need to hide who I am or feel particularly scared! As for places to visit, man there are so many places here. It really depends on the type of things that you like to do, but the places that I mention in the video (Centro Cultural Recoleta) can be a good place to start, because you have the Recoleta Cemetery right there which is a very touristic place and also Facultad de Derecho (part of the Buenos Aires University) which is also very nice to visit! I hope you and your family have a great time when you guys come and visit!

Taylor, she answered your questions impeccably. Regarding places to visit, museums, things to do... you’ll never get to visit them all. I’ve lived here (outskirts) for many decades and still haven’t visited near half the museums available. I’d say culture is our greatest asset. It never stops developing and there’s always new things to go experience. Best of lucks!

Hi! As a fellow BA citizen I can answer this questions. Buenos Aires is really vegan friendly, even though we're really famous for meat, a really big percentage of people are vegan or vegetarian, most modern restaurants and coffee stores have vegan options and there are many vegan exclusive places, especially in Palermo so you'll have no problem :D In supermarkets you can find plenty of plant based milks, although you may find even more options like cheeses, sweets, etc. in dietary which there are plenty and all over the city
